Statement of Purpose In our classroom we strive to create a positive environment that nurtures learning, fosters fairness, encourages respectfulness, and teaches responsibility. Rules Respect others Raise your hand, wait to be called on Be kind to others Procedures We will start our day, by greeting one another, stating our purpose, and completing our quiet bell work that is written on the board We will transition, with a different song signifying what our next move is, for example Bill Nye the science guy will come on when it is time to bring out our science text We will line up, quietly; waiting to be dismissed for example those of you who are wearing green may line up quietly We will break off into groups, quietly referring back to the list of names of students that we will work with (Color coordinated, posted on the wall) We will end our day, by reflecting on what we learned Consequences Positive Behavior
Brownie Points (magnet pan with brownie magnets, once
the pan is full the class is treated to brownies) Verbal praise (Wow! I really like how you are sitting with your eyes on the board ready to learn!) Notes home (Your student had a great day, and followed all the class rules today) Prize Box Bucket filling (Students will each have their individual bucket and will have pomp poms to add when they are following class rules) Consequences Negative Behavior Verbal warning (Child A, please raise your hard before you talk) Reflection (How was my behavior and how can I change it) Note home A trip to the Principals office Action Plan Objectives Set clear expectations Set class rules Rewards/ Consequences Make expectations, rules, rewards & consequences known Inform parents
