Summary
Students will learn about the Respiratory system and the
of the
Circulatory system.
Lesson
Standards 10.1.3.B: Identify and know the location and function of the
:
major body organs and systems.
Essential How can we gain an understanding of the systems of the
Questions body and use this outside of the classroom?
Students will be able to identify the different components of
the respiratory and circulatory systems.
Objective Students will be able to construct a model of blood with the
s
different parts.
Students will be able to apply concepts to explain what they
have learned in an experiment.

Before
First I will get the attention of the class. I will go over what
we will be learning as well as the statement of learning.
Also, we will be going over the expectations that are needed
for good behavior. I then will ask students what they know
about breathing and the respiratory system. I will explain
the post it note system that we will be using throughout the
lesson.
During
Next, I will have the students fill out the beginning
worksheet. We will go over it after the video. After the video,
we will go over the worksheet that the students completed.
Then, we will start the prezi. I will go over the respiratory
system and check for understanding periodically. After we
finish this portion and cover all of the vocabulary, the
students will fill out the diagram handed to them with a
partner. After a few minutes, we will go over the sheet as a
class. I will check for understanding about the respiratory
Procedure system and start the circulatory system.
We will go over all of the slides and learn the new
vocabulary. I will check for understanding periodically. Once
we finish going over all of the material, we will discuss what
we will do next. I will explain the experiment and supplies
that have been handed out to them during the class. I will
put up the procedure for the experiment and explain what to
do and how to fill out the worksheet. In groups, the students
will carry out the experiment. After several minutes, we will
come back together and go over the work sheet that the
students filled out during the activity. We will discuss what
the activity represented and what the students learned. I will
check for understanding one more time.
After
Once we have covered and gone over everything, I will ask
at least one person from each group to share what they
have learned during this lesson. After this, we will wrap up
and move on to the next lesson.
Students will be assessed by an experiment at the end of
the lesson. I will be able to assess whether or not they
Formative
understand the new information. Also, I will be checking for
Assessme
understanding throughout the whole lesson. A couple of
nt
worksheets will be handed out, with this; I can see how the
student havr comprehended the lesson.
