Question
Which battery voltage will better produce light
from a LED circuit?

Abstract
Which battery will better produce light from a LED circuit? If I use a higher battery
voltage, then the circuit will produce more light than the lower battery voltage
because the circuit will have more power to distribute throughout the LED light.
The motivation for this project is to test if you can you can use different battery
voltages than the recommended for an appliance. This will not affect my
experiment. First, I will build one circuit with a 12V battery. Next, I will test how
much light, if any, will come from the LED, and record my results. After I record my
results, I will repeat the same process with the remaining 19 12V batteries,
recording my results as I finish each circuit. (20 trials). When I am finished with all
of the 12V battery circuits, then I will repeat the same process with all of the 9V
batteries, and record my data as I finish each circuit (20 trials). When I am done
with all of my trials and all of my data is collected, then I will conclude which
battery is more effective in lighting a LED. My results showed that the lights
shined in the way and brightness. In conclusion, the battery voltage didnt really
matter.

Hypothesis
If I use a higher battery voltage, then the
circuit will produce more light than the
lower battery voltage because the circuit
will have more power to distribute
throughout the LED light.

First, I will build one circuit with a 12V battery.
Next, I will test how much light, if any, will come from the LED,
and record my results.
After I record my results, I will repeat the same process with the
remaining 19 12V batteries, recording my results as I finish each

Procedure
Problem:

Which battery will better produce light from a LED circuit?

Rational:

The motivation for this project is to test if you can you can
use different battery voltages than the recommended for an
appliance. This will not affect my experiment.

Hypothesis:

If I use a higher battery voltage, then the circuit will

produce more light than the lower battery voltage because the circuit
will have more power to distribute throughout the LED light.

Variables:

My independent variable is the different battery voltages

that I will use. My dependent variable is the amount of light that is
produced from each different battery voltage. Controlled- the brand of
battery, the type of wire, the type of pencil, the environment, the color
of the LED lights and the condition of the LED lights.

Conclusion
In this experiment I tested whether a 9V battery or a 12V
battery would better light a LED. The battery voltage
didnt really matter in the sense of power provided
visually. The graphite conducted the same amount of
power from each battery type. The average for the 9V
battery was actually higher that the average for the 12V
battery.
