Balter, Michael. Science AAAS. N.p., 8 Oct. 2015. Web. 25 Oct. 2015.

This article shows the and explains that their may be chemical and DNA links to
homosexuality. This in some terms would be referred to as the gay gene and would be
the new evidence to explain the cause of homosexuality. The main objective of the article
is to inform the public that there is and could be a gene, rather methylation patterns that
are specifically linked to sexual orientation.

I think that this site is relevant in that it shows that being gay or being straight
could ultimately be a chemical cause inside the brain. This would actually cause some
outrage in the treatment of homosexuals because it would now turn to something that
they cannot control. This also addresses the question in my proposal as to if the causes
where chemical or not. This is a big point to use and shows that there is research to back
it.

I know that this is a creditable source because the actual website that published
the article. It is a .org and this also helps to show that it is a creditable source. The
website that published the article is run by a very well know scientific site/magazine
source.
Jones, Mike, and David Gelb. Homosexuality in the Media. University of Toronto, 22 May 2007.
Web. 1 Nov. 2015. <http://ocw.usu.edu/English/introduction-to-writing-academicprose/homosexuality-in-the-media.html-skinless_view.html>

This article shows the role that the media plays into exposing people to trends in
society that they may not be as familiar with and get a sense of progressive openness. It
really looks at the effects and the trends towards the openness of homosexuality and how
as time has paced it isnt un common to see support on shows compared to past times
when homosexuality where more frowned on.
I think that this is a useful source because it addresses a gradual progression of a
un bias/pro homosexuality stance and how it has helped and pushed the movement leaps
and bounds forward because of the medias ability to influence people. I think that I will
be using it in tandem with other sources so that the effect of movements and literature can
effect the media and it can be used as a tool to help.
I know that this source is reputable because it comes from the University of
Toronto and was written and published by teachers there and published with an .edu at
the end of the site.

Kirk, Marshall, and Erastes Pill. THE OVERHAULING OF STRAIGHT AMERICA. Guild
Magazine, Nov. 1987. Web. 25 Oct.
2015. <http://library.gayhomeland.org/0018/EN/EN_Overhauling_Straight.htm>.

This article is actually a straight website document that is an article that was
published in Guild Magazine and later expanded into a book. It details the steps to
helping the LBGT movement and sets the guide lines for what to do in the medias eye.
Some sites that are against the article have used it to show the deceiving ways that LBGT
communities can use the media and turn it to their tool to help their movement. The main
idea of the article though is just the article itself and gives detailed instructions on what to
do in the medias eye.

I would say reading the passage I would feel slightly taken advantage of and can
see that it has a very powerful message to its readers. It invokes a little fear and how
easily the media can be controlled and manipulated. I think that it is a good tool to use
showing what all goes on behind the scenes in the movement whether it is actually used
or not. This passage helps show how medias perception of things can greatly affect the
outcome of the publics view

I know that this a good source because of the domain url, which is and .org. I also
know that it is a good site because it came from a book also that it was expanded upon
and how it sets specific guild lines for how homosexuals should act in the media eye.
This article is said to be a closet guide to helping manipulate the media in helping the gay

movement gain traction and support and is used my many more radical groups to gain
traction.

McGovern, Michele. "The Medias Influence on Public Perception of Homosexuality." Journal

of Research Across the Disciplines. Ed. Ed McCourt. Jacksonville University, n.d. Web.
24 Oct. 2015.

This resource shows the medias role in showing how it can affect the public
opinion of homosexuality. This research paper documents and details things that eh media
has done in the past and makes a point that it is a big part of how the LBGT movement as
a whole got started and how is has gained mass amounts of traction since.

The pdf brings up lots of good points about the medias role in the movements and
how it can shift public opinion easily. I think that using this source along with the one
before it, you can really show cause and effect and get the point across as to what role the
media plays in the homosexuality movement.

I know that this a reputable site because it comes from the English department at
Jacksonville University.

Myths and Realities of Gay Men and Lesbian. West Chester University, n.d. Web. 26 Oct. 2015.

ns.pdf>.

This resource has a nice plethora of inform about general assumptions and stereo
types of homosexuals and some of the things that they are clamed to do. This shows that
the stereotypes whether good or bad, can really make an impact on the homosexual
community. This site gives a nice summary of each stereotype followed by a brief
description on its impact on homosexuals. It then gives information as to why it isnt true.
I think that will be a good source to have because it looks at some of the ignorant
reasons that people do not support homosexuals and how it can affect them. I think that I
will be using this sight as a back up toward what is expected by some and how it some of
these stereotypes can really hurt the progression of a more equal fair treatment of
homosexuals. I think that I will be using the sight to help more with the debunking of
common stereotypes in order the level the playing field and get everyone on the same
page as I explore the identity.
I know that this source is reputable because it is and .edu site and it is promoted
by McGill University Student Health Center.
