Uintah is a small farming town in Utah with a population of 13,000 people surrounded by a
community of farmers and miners. These careers are naturally prone to work accidents. The town is only
provided with a 90 bed acute care hospital and this hospital serves the tri-county area. There are no other
health facilities in the region. The average occupancy rate is 80% making it full the majority of the time.
There are two general practitioners, one general surgeon, one pediatrician, and three physicians assistants
with additional registered nurses, licensed practitioner nurses and other aides and technicians working to
cover all of the patients. The hospital does not currently provide physical, occupational or speech therapy.
In fact physical therapy is not offered in the tri-county area. The citizens of Uintah are in need of a
physical therapy clinic to help combat injuries and get people back to their top condition.
Our philosophy and goals for our physical therapy clinic are:
The philosophy is that all the people are deserving of quality and an affordable rehabilitation
Some goals are
o To increase function, strength, motion, coordination, balance, & flexibility
