This document analyzes student performance data from an interim assessment. 84% of students were proficient, while 16% were not. The teacher hypothesizes that instructional strategies were effective for most students but did not differentiate enough for the 4 students who were not proficient. The teacher plans to re-teach those students in small groups. One student scored a 1, so the teacher will identify that student's learning style and provide practice tailored to their strengths. Finally, more females scored higher than males, so the teacher will consciously encourage both genders equally going forward.

identify from the data? (Just the facts!!! Be specific, include numbers when possible.) 84 % of students were proficient on this interim assessment, or in other words, this objective.
Hypotheses: What hypotheses can you
make about each fact? (Answer the question, what did you do that contributed to these results?) (Past Tense) I have taught information students were already proficient in. The instructional strategies I used were effective.
16 % of students were not
proficient on this interim assessment, or in other words, this objective.
Students 1, 3, 14, and 25 were not
proficient on this interim assessment, or in other words, this objective.
Action Plan: What will you do
based on the facts and hypotheses you concluded? (Future Tense) I will not have these proficient students continue practicing this objective, since they I already showed mastery. I will make this the summative assessment item that corresponds to this objective, since students already showed mastery of the content/skill. Therefore, when I am grading these students test I will automatically give them their earned score on the item number that corresponds with this objective.
I did not differentiate instruction enough
during this lesson to meet the learning needs of these students.
Since there are only 4 students
who have not yet mastered this interim assessment/objective, I will re-teach this lesson to these three students in a small group when time permits later in the unit. I will also offer these three students the ability to come in before school, after school, or
Data Analysis & Application
Only 1 student scored a 1.
I did not differentiate instruction in a way
that fit this students learning needs.
5 of the 7 student who earned a 4
were female.
I spent more energy or attention
encouraging the females to go above and beyond than I did the males during guided instruction.
during lunch for me to re-teach
the content and for more practice. After re-teaching I will also encourage students to practice this skill at home or when time permits throughout the rest of the unit. I will look up this students learning style/intelligences which I collected from students on the first day of school and see if one of his/her strengths was not used during the lesson. If not, I will provide more practice to this student throughout the lesson in a way that best fits their learning style/intelligence. In the future I will be conscious of those who I encourage, trying to equally encourage both males and females.
