On the given chart fill out the first box labeled before
based on the questions I ask in the prior knowledge.
Modeling of the Concept
I will guide those two questions into an open discussion,
guiding and questioning the students to expand their
ideas on the topic of war.
Transition
Students will gather their chairs together in a big group
to hear the story called Playing war.
I will ask if anyone can guess what the story might be
about.
Guiding the Practice
I will read the story and project it by the smart board so
everyone can see the book and read along.
While reading I will sporadically ask questions about that
they are thinking.
Providing the Independent Practice
While the story is being read, students will be filling in
the during section of their chart.
Adaptations/Accommodations for Students with Special Needs
When we listen to the story, students may be asked to
move to the front of the group to be by me while I read.
Students with disabilities will be given a buddy to help
fill out their charts.
