Leah intros the show and intros the MCs who intro the judges

Demi: Hoooooo! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome welcome welcome to the 1 st

annual-
Mary: Nnnnnope.
Demi: 2nd annual-
Mary: Still wrong.
Demi: 356th annual-
Mary: Just stop.
Demi: Okay.
Mary: Welcome to the ___th annual Plano’s Got Talent talent show! And boy, do we
have a great show for every one of you tonight.
Demi: Yes, that’s right. Over 45 acts were auditioned this year, and while every one
of them was impressive, no one wants to be here for next 9 hours. So from those 45
acts came 60 of Plano’s most talented students, showcasing 19 different talents for
you all today.
Mary: As talented as these people are, they didn’t all come together out of nowhere.
This entire show was set up over a grueling month-long period by the officers of our
school’s National Honors Society, so lets give ‘em a hand.

(pause for applause)

Demi: That same group of people also enlisted the help of tonight’s talented
celebrity judge panel, made up of teachers you know and love. All the way from the
Math department, give it up for Mr. Gallo!

(Pause for applause)

Mary: Our second judge was teacher of the year, as decided by me, just now- give it
up for Ms. Heslep!

(Pause for applause)

Demi: Our second judge is a 3-time Olympic Gold medalist in Espanol, give it up for
Mrs. Fresquez!

(Pause for applause)

Mary: This fourth judge was the president of Sweden for ten years, then left to
pursue a teaching job, give a warm welcome to Mrs. Piegat!

(Pause for applause)

Demi: Our final judge is a has done absolutely nothing special (pause for oooohs)
and I’m probably going to fail her class now, put your hands together for Mrs.
Gallatin!

(Pause for applause)

Mary: And, as an extra surprise, for you guys every student that attended this show
will receive two free 100 daily grades in these teachers classes!

(Pause for applause)

Demi: April fools! We lied to you!

Mary: Yep! Nobody gets anything!
Demi: Technically it’s a day early, but we’re running on British time!
Mary: Our second act of the night is an incredible song performed by an incedible
girl- it’s Katie Valletuttu, singing “Crush.”

2. Katie Valletutti singing “Crush”- 1 Microphone

Demi: That was great, Katie. Really great. Mary. What did you think?
Mary: Wonderful. Without a doubt, it is the best song we have heard tonight.
Demi: I couldn’t agree more. Our next act tonight is a really cool ASL performance of
Owl City’s “Fireflies” and the Black Eyed Peas’ “I’ve Got A Feeling”. Please welcome
Shane Ye & Jim Sheng!

3. Jim Sheng and Shane Ye (ASL of “Fireflies” and “I’ve Got a Feeling”)-

Demi: It’s always cool to see something performed in another language.

Mary: It is. You know, I’m fluent in Mandarin.
Demi: Oh really? That’s cool. Teach me a word in Mandarin!
Mary: Sure! (short Mandarin word)
Demi: What does that mean?
Mary: It means “Please welcome Eric Coveney, Bola Ibadapo, Ryan Prim, Jake Sklar,
and Stephen Bain performing Wild Cherry’s 1976 hit, Play that funky music!”
Demi: Wow… that’s really specific.

4. Eric Coveney, Bola Ibadapo, Ryan Prim, Jake Sklas, Stephen Bain performing “Play
That Funky Music” – drums, amps, guitars, 1 Microphone

Mary: Wow, those guys are really talented. What was your part of that act?
Demi: I liked the part where they played the music.
Mary: Uh… isn’t that the entire act?
Demi: No, there were other parts. The part when they came on the stage, the part
where they left the stage, the part where they grabbed their instruments. Clearly
you weren’t paying attention, jerk.
Mary: Of course I was paying attention, I ju-
Demi: NO NO NO. No excuses. Just introduce the next act.
Mary: Fine. Up next we have the lovely Chelsia Reeves, singing Adele’s “Chasing
Pavements.”

Mary: Wait, where are you going?
Demi: I’ll be right back- I just realized that I think I left my stove on.
Mary: What? You’ve been here all day, when did you do that?
Demi: LAST NIGHT! I WAS MAKING A POT ROAST!
Mary: Anyway, this next performance is a lovely piano piece, from Meghan
Haggblade, Angela Tran, and Vineet Gopal, performing Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will
Go On.”

Demi: out of breath I ran. Really really fast.
Mary: So did you turn your oven off?
Demi: Stove, Mary. It was a stove, I don’t have an oven.
Mary: Whatever. Did you turn your stove off?
Demi: No, I forgot that I didn’t have a stove either. Just huffing introduce the next
act.
Mary: Our next act is something completely new- if love Germany, folk, and dancing,
then you’re going to love these German fold dancers!

7. German Folk Dancers -

Demi: Wow, that was great.

Mary: Yeah, it makes me wish I had some sort of talent.
Demi: But Mary, don’t you play the guitar?
mary pulls out guitar
Mary: Oh, right!
to the tune of the NHS Song riff
Demi: From a dancing crew to a drummer that glows
Mary: We’ve got it all here at the talent show.
Demi: We’ve got 7 acts down, and 12 to go.
Mary: So up next is a song written by Ne-Yo.
Demi: Yes, this next performance is rather incredible.
Mary: We’d say it’s delicious, but it’s not so edible.
Demi: If we rated it ourselves, we’d give it a ten.
Demi & Mary: So give it up for Daryl Ferguson!

8. Darryl Ferguson performing “When You’re Mad” – 1 microphone

Mary: That was awesome!

Demi: Yes, so awesome that it would be unfair to make anyone go after that.
Goodnight, everybody!
Walk off-stage
Mary: Okay, the show coordinator has informed us that we’re not leaving, but taking
an intermission now. We’ll be back in an hour!
Demi: 10 minutes.
Mary: We’ll be back in 10 minutes! Take this time to go to the bathroom, buy candy
in the hall, or take the world’s shortest nap.

INTERMISSION.

Mary: Welcome back from the bathroom! We hope you enjoyed it in there.
Demi: I did! Whoo!
high five
Mary: Well, I hope you washed your hands!
Demi: Nope.
mary wipes hand on dress
Demi: Now this next song is actually a collection of songs, a medley if you will,
performed by a group of five seniors.
Mary: And here’s a fun fact: If you put the first letter of all of their names together, it
actually spells something.
Demi: Oh really, what’s that?
Mary: KJAEA.
Demi: … I don’t think that’s an actual word.
Mary: No, I looked it up during the break. It is.
Demi: Alright then. Well, give it up for our next group, Kushal Gulati, Jennifer Gao,
Eric Chow, Alex Tang, Albert Cheng.

9. Kushal Gulati, Jennifer Gao, Eric Chow, Alex Tang, Albert Cheng performing a

Mary: I loved that performance. It was great! Don’t you think so De-… Wait… uh, has
anybody seen Demi?
(pause)
Demi: from the audience I’m back here!
Mary: Demi? Why are you all the way back there in the audience?
Demi: Oh, I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m tired.
Mary: What? You can’t just leave me up here alone!
Demi: Fine, I’ll find someone else to do it. Okay, who wants to be a guest MC?
choose a person
Demi: Alright, give it up for your guest MC, ____!
(pause for applause)

Mary: Well, it was Demi’s turn to introduce the next act, so you can do it.
(show guest MC what the act is, have them announce it)
Mary: Hey, you’re better than Demi!
Demi: NUH UH!
Mary: Give it up for Tim Yin & Julie Chang!

(pause for applause)

Demi: For being such a great sport tonight, our MC is walking away with a prize!
Tell ‘em what their prize is, Mary!
Mary: Iiiiiiiiiiits a brand new roll of toilet paper! Yes, grade-A, two-ply, soft-as-a-
cloud Bounty toilet paper! Don’t use that all at once!
Demi: Or do. Whatever. We’re not your parents. Our next act is a fantastic song,
performed by our very own Eleni Sanders!

11. Eleni Sanders singing … - 1 Microphone

Demi: Good job, Eleni. That song was music to my ears.

Mary: Literally!
super fake laughter
Demi: That joke wasn’t funny.
Mary: Not even a little bit. This next act is a bit of a mix of talents, with some
dancing and even some rapping.
Demi: Yes, put your hands together for Ayana Allen, Daniel Hines, and Keith
Masando!

12. Ayana Allen, Daniel Hines, Keith Masando dancing and rapping – 2 Microphones

Mary: That was a great act . We’ve seen it all here tonight.
Demi: Yep, but there’s one thing I haven’t seen.
Mary: What’s that?
Demi: Well, every time I go to a sports game, they always try to get the audience to
do the wave, but it never works successfully. I think we could do it right though.
Mary: You think so?
Demi: Yeah, I do! Let’s do this!

Demi leads THE WAVE

Mary: I’m not sure what the point of that was, Demi.
Demi: Oh, I have a list of things to do before I graduate high school.
Mary: And one of those things was to lead a crowd in “the wave”?
Demi: Yep. Now I just have to teach a dog to surf, and I will be done.
Mary: That is a weird list. This next act is an awesome song from two awesome
people- please welcome Loren Salu and Chika Mbah singing “No One.”

13. Loren Salu and Chika Mbah singing “No One” – 2 Microphones

Demi: Wow, that makes 13 acts in a row that have absolutely blown me away.
Mary: I know! I keep expecting at least one of these to be simply “okay”, but they’re
all great. Our judges are going to have a hard time deciding the winner tonight.
Demi: I know that’s right! So let’s make it even harder on the judges with this next
act, a mysteeeerious, mystifying magic act, by Jacob Ponce!

14. Jacob Ponce performing a magic show – soft red background light, 1
Microphone?

Demi: Man, it’s incredible how many different talents you never see at this school
until tonight.
Mary: And it’s not just the people in this show! I bet every single person in this
school has a talent.
Demi: Oh, I’m sure of it. I bet points that guy plays a rockin’ bass.
Mary: Mhm. And I bet points that girl is a really good juggler.
Demi: Yeah. I know points that guy has been trained to talk to a variety sea animals.
Mary: Oh yeah, and I bet- wait, what?
Demi: That guy can talk to sea animals.
Mary: No way. I bet he can’t.
Demi: I’ll take that bet. shakes hand Sir, can you talk to dolphins? No? What about
turtles? Sharks? Seafish? You’re killing me here.
Mary: You lost! We’ll discuss the terms of your loss backstage. But for now, we’re
going to take another short intermission, so you can all stretch, go to the bathroom,
fix world hunger, et cetera.

INTERMISSION 2.0

Demi: Welcome back to Plano’s Got Talent!

Mary: With 14 acts down, and only 5 more to go, you’re in for a real treat over the
next few minutes.
Demi: That’s right. You’ve already seen what incredible talents the people of Plano
have. What’s even better is when they come together as a group and show off a
common talent.
Mary: And that’s exactly what this next group of 10 students did.
Demi: So please welcome to the stage, Samuel See, Chris Im, Nikhila Kanthety,
Devon Trumbauer, Jeffrey Lavine, Chris Escarfullery, Lauren Parks, Eleni Sanders,
Erin Reas, and Lindsay Golem!

15. Samuel See, Chris Im, Nikhila Kanthety, Devon Trumbauer, Jeffrey Lavine, Chris

Stop Believing” – 8 Microphones (if possible), 8 mikestands

Mary: Absolutely. Amazing.

Demi: Yeah, really awesome. I love seeing groups of people performing songs I
know and love.
Mary: Oh, what a perfectly timed and not at all planned coincidence! This next act is
a group of people performing songs you know and love!
Demi: Whaaaaaaaaat?
Mary: Give a warm welcome to Edward Hunt, Patrick Hunt, Jason Wan, Seth Russell,
and Nathan Chiu!

16. Jason Wan, Edward Hunt, Patrick Hunt, Seth Russell, Nathan Chiu performing
“Bubbly” and “I Get Around” – 2/3 MICROPHONES

Demi: Well, that was a really cool act.

Mary: I have to agree. And with only three acts left to go, I must say that I’m really
excited to see what we’ve still got going on.
Demi: Totally. And what I can’t get enough of are the dancers. I’m the most
uncoordinated person on the planet, so I’m always amazed when someone comes
out onto the stage with such awesome dance moves.
Mary: That being said, put your hands together for Kelton Reed, Blake Robertson,
Mikey McFatter, and Brandon McCalister.

17. Kelton Reed, Blake Robertson, Mikey McFatter, and Brandon McCalister dancing

Mary: Those guys were awesome!

Demi: I’ve known many of those guys for years, and I never knew they had that kind
of talent.
Mary: This school is full of talent, Demi.
Demi: That’s right, Mary, for instance, did you guys know that I was a licensed pilot?
Mary: That’s neat! Did you know that I am a 3-time Olympic Gold medalist?
Demi: I did, but did you all know that I speak fifteen different languages?
Mary: If you didn’t know any of these things, it is because none of them are true.
Demi: Yep. You’re being lied to. These are all filler jokes, because we have
absolutely nothing else to say here.
Mary: So instead of just standing here awkwardly for the next few minutes, we are
pleased to welcome to the stage Laura Garcia, singing “If I Ain’t Got You”!
18. Laura Garcia singing “If I Ain’t Got You” -1 Microphone

Demi: Great job Laura! You really did justice to that great song.
Mary: Alright guys, we’re coming down the final stretch here. This song is the last
performance of the night, but it’s definitely not the least.
Demi: That’s right, and do we have a great final performance here- this is a team of
three students performing two great songs for you, so please give a warm welcome
to Madison Whitehead, Allison Chu, and Ryan Prim, performing 100 Years and
Fifteen.
