word in a different
colour twice.

Poem
Write a poem with
your words. Be sure
to underline the words
and spell them

Write one sentence for
every word on the list.

Short Story
Write a short story
using your words. Be
sure to underline the
words and spell them

Use a Thinking Map to


show all of the words
related to one of your
spelling words (circle map

Newspaper Activity
Clip a newspaper
article or articles that
contain at least ten
spelling words.

Illustrations
Draw a picture that
shows the meaning of 8
words. Be sure to write
the word with the
picture. Draw a separate
picture for each of the
ten words.

Comic Strip
Create a comic strip with
pictures and your spelling
words. The story should
make sense, and the
spelling words should be
underlined. You must
include at least 8 words
