Place Value Students started the year reviewing place value of numbers through the millions. We will continue to build on
and use this knowledge throughout the year when solving multi-digit problems.
Multi-Digit Addition & Subtraction We spent time reviewing multi-digit addition and subtraction at the beginning of the
year. These skills will continue to be revisited throughout the year. Knowing when to add and when to subtract when given a
word problem has been difficult for many students.
Multiplication The class has been learning how to multiply multi-digit numbers by 1 digit numbers. They have been
learning two ways to multiply numbers. We also learned about using estimation to help check our answers. We will continue
learning and reviewing multiplication this year.
