Reading Art Reflection

For this original piece, a famous painting, Music Lessons, was shown and it looked like
a very wealthy family practicing music. A young boy was playing on a grand piano with a
woman behind him smiling and a man next to him, sat on the floor reading. Outside in what
appears to be the back yard was another man or a young boy sitting with a white dog. There were
also a few random objects in the painting like the abandoned violin on the piano, the
pool/fountain filled with brown water, and a golden statue in the backyard. There was clearly
some kind of story in this painting because of these questions that are seen in the art itself. I like
this assignment because we made this story (the beginning part) based on what we each saw and
they are all different with different point of views. I love art but at the same time it was difficult
to make a story because there are so many different directions the story can go especially with a
painting like the one we were shown. However, I like the painting because it looks like a
peaceful setting with a calm and happy family. The music from the piano and the relaxed
expressions of the people in the painting are clearly expressed through the picture itself. Also, as
mentioned in standard, ELAGSE9-10W1.d., I maintained a formal tone through the story, trying
my best to make it sound as close as a real short story that has the appropriate plot and
developing.
