Science 10 Biome Project Library day

A. Useful Websites:
1. Biomes of the World http://www.thewildclassroom.com/biomes/index.html - click on the
map!
2. The Encyclopedia of Earth - http://www.eoearth.org/ - look under
side tabs e.g. Geography Ecoregion is a great place to start.
Check out the overall map as well as information about specific
terrestrial ecoregions
Also, look under Ecology Biomes
3. World Atlas http://www.worldatlas.com - click on specific areas of
the map (continent, country, etc) for more information. Click on the
geography tab to find out locations of mountains
4. Maps of the World - http://www.mapsofworld.com/physicalmap/world.htm - map shows some of the worlds mountain ranges (as
well as other physical features) click on the continents tab for a
closer look at your specific region
5. The 7 Continents of the World http://www.whatarethe7continents.com/ - Information about the 7
Continents, Oceans, and Deserts of the World
6. Wildfinder - http://www.worldwildlife.org/science/wildfinder/ - look
under Ecoregion Themes
7. Internet Geography http://www.geography.learnontheinternet.co.uk/topics/climatezones.ht
ml#zones map of the worlds climate zones

But please note it is produced by students at an elementary school.
B. Databases:
1. World Book search your specific biome (i.e. tundra) as well as
country/region/continent (i.e. Australia - read over the land section
for information about temperature, climate, and precipitation click on
little side maps! Useful!)
