What Americans think should be done illegal on illegal

Its surprising how Americans supports undocumented immigrants to remain in the country
instead of being deported. They find it very unhuman how Donald Trumps immigration plan is to
deport 11 million undocumented immigrants. 74 percent of Americans, mostly democrats, agree
in letting illegal immigrants stay in the country while the other 24 percent, republicans, are
against it. Depending on the 2016 presidential election they would like to allow undocumented
immigrants to live and work in the united states without any worries. I like the way this article
shows the separation between democrats and republicans making it a very important point to my
choice of topic.

Darby, Brandon. (2015. August 18). 30 million illegal immigrants in US, says Mexicos former
ambassador. Breitbart. Retrieved from http://www.breitbart.com/biggovernment/2015/08/18/30-million-illegal-immigrants-in-us-says-mexicos-formerambassador/
In an interview done to Mexicos former ambassador, it was stated that they where about 30
million undocumented immigrants which then was stated different change the number to 11
million undocumented immigrants. This was brought up in a way to attack Donald Trump for his
plan of deporting illegal immigrants. The ambassador said, If you were to deport 30 million
undocumented immigrants in the United States thats going o cost about 130 billion dollars. The
U.S government though keeps saying that the number of undocumented immigrants is around 11

million, but border watchdog groups state that its about 30 million undocumented immigrants.
Making this a very useful article because it talks about corruption towards immigrants for their
convenience.

Hanson, Gordon H. (2009, December). The economics and policy of illegal immigration in the
United States. Migration policy institute. Retrieved from
http://www.migrationpolicy.org/research/economics-and-policy-illegal-immigrationunited-states
The impact of the illegal immigration over the United States economy is very small according to
a report created by Professor of Economics Gordon Hanson, from the University of California,
San Diego. The benefit of fiscal burden is almost zero which gives no gains to the United States
economy. On the other hand, the spending on the border and enforcement is a very expensive
cost that not even tax savings is enough. The author suggests to hire foreign workers under the
condition of a fee for the entry or a tax done towards foreign employers. This was a very
important article to my topic of choice because I like the way it suggests ways in which
immigrants can help the economy while they can be helped as well.

Kredo, Adam. (2015, August 26). Thousands of illegal immigrant children could be freed into
U.S. The Washington free beacon. Retrieved from
http://freebeacon.com/issues/thousands-of-illegal-immigrant-children-could-be-freedinto-u-s/
Around 2,000 million immigrant children and their mothers could be freed after the Department
of Homeland Security requires it without unnecessary delay. This is a violation of law because

children are not supposed to be in unlicensed facilities. Its still being argued and ignored by the
judged in releasing the children. Majority of these minors have been released but approximately
1,820 of them are still being held back. The Department of Homeland Security is on high alert
because of the attempting of this children crossing the border. I find this very interesting and
important to my topic because even though there are laws that are to be followed arent followed
correctly because of corruption.

Shultz, George P. (2015, March 5). Getting at the roots of illegal immigrations. The Wall Street
Journal. Retrieved from http://www.wsj.com/articles/george-p-shultz-getting-at-theroots-of-illegal-immigration-1425600501
This article, written by George P. Shultz talks about the problems crated by crossing the border
illegal but also solutions that would help this problem. According to Hispanic Trends illegal
immigration has decreased since 2007 when it reached its peak. Of course the problem wants to
be prevented but thought more thoroughly in ways to help both countries. The problem isnt
coming from Mexico though, but from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. He goes over how
theirs a push factor that causes people and children to leave their country, but how we should be
more understandable and generous. I found this very relevant and important to my topic because
I believe in creating a solution to illegal immigration rather than to just deporting immigrants
when they have done no harm to this country.

Silva, Cristina. (2015, September 11). Illegal immigration 2015: undocumented immigrants

having fewer children in US. Ibtimes. Retrieved from http://www.ibtimes.com/illegalimmigration-2015-undocumented-immigrants-having-fewer-children-us-2092621

In a report written by Cristina Silva, she goes over how illegal immigrants are having fewer
children in the United States. In a proposition made by Donald Trump, he would like to stop
granting citizenship to those that where born here by an illegal parent. This will rebel over the
14th amendment which grants citizenship to anyone person born or naturalized in the United
States. She states how in 2012 there was about 4.5 million or 38 percent US born children with
an undocumented parent. 5.8 undocumented immigrants are from Mexico, while 1.4 million are
from Asia. According to a poll 72 percent of Americans would allow undocumented immigrants
to stay legally in the U.S under certain requirements. I found this article very important because I
find it interesting how Donald Trump wants to take away citizenship to those born in the United
States but yet Americans are willing to let undocumented immigrant stay in the United States.

Vaughan, J. (2013, December 29). Where are all the deportations? Center for Immigration
Studies. Retrieved from
http://www.cis.org/OpedsandArticles/Obama-RecordDeportations
In the article, Jessica Vaughan writes about how Obama has the least number of deportations
since Nixon. She argues how people have been stating that Obama has had the most deportations
but that that isnt true. In fact, Obama deported around 800,000 per year while George Bush
deported 1.3 million people per year. The reason for this is because deportation is off limits if the
person has not committed a crime. She then starts going over reliable sources for immigration
statistics like Department of Homeland Securitys website, Bureau of Justice Statistics and

Bureau of Labor Statistics. The authors research is relevant and important to my issue because it
goes over the number of immigrants deported every year and where we can find immigrant
statistics.
