Player

Technically sound; Able to control, pass, finish and run with the ball using both feet

Creative; Try to create as many goal chances as possible

Confident; Composed in possession of the ball and able to make good decisions under pressure

Disciplined; Follows coaches instruction to the best of their ability

Coach

Compassionate; Understanding of all players personal situations and technical development needs

Organised; Sessions are prepared, conducted and analysed in a professional manner

Driven; Always wanting to expand their knowledge

Value development over results; The performance dictates results, not the need for results dictating
the performance

Team

Proactive; Attacking at every opportunity and prefer to win by scoring more goals than the
opposition, compared to focusing on keeping the opposition out

Determined; A can do attitude

Respectful to teammates, opponents and match officials; Never arguing with a teammate or referee,
not retaliating after being fouled and helping an opponent up if they commit a foul

Spirited; Everyone is a valued member of the team and contributes equally to the performance

5:30 6:30; Under 10-12 Boys & Under 10-12 Girls


6:30 8:00; Under 13-15 Boys & Under 14-16 Girls

Note; Saturday sessions will be run by Technical Director staff with Waverley Victory coach assistance

2016 Pre Season (12 weeks)

Week 12 Coaches Education (No Players)


4 sessions conducted by Technical Director staff, to assist coaches in session planning, session
structure and delivering coaching points.

Week 36 Age group Training


Train as age group not individual teams, Sessions written by Technical Director staff and conducted
by Waverley Coaches.
Used for player assessment and team selection.
Technical Director staff to attend all sessions16 sessions 4 per week.

Week 712 Team Training


Train in selected teams, Sessions written and conducted by Waverley coaches.
Used for group play topics and match preparation.
Goal Keeper Training - 1 night per week, 2 x 75 min sessions, 7 keepers per session

In season training Week 118 of season


Technical Director staff to attend twice weekly to assist Waverley coaches in session planning, session
structure and delivering coaching points.
12 nights Goal Keeper Training - 1 night per week, 2 x 75 min sessions, 7 keepers per session

Match analysis.
Technical Director staff to attend home matches for all teams U 12s plus at beginning and end of
season.
To analyse the coaches match preparation, interaction with players and feedback on patterns of play.
Home matches round 1-4 and 1518.

Match Day Policies


Football Knowledge

Under 7 Under 11; Expected to be competent and play in 3 of; Attack/Midfield/Defence/Goalkeeper

Under 12 Under 16; Expected to be competent and play in 2 of; Attack/Midfield/Defence


*Under 12 Under 16 may have a permanent Goalkeeper

Game Time

Under 7 Under 11; minimum 75% average game time over the season

Under 12 Under 16; minimum 70% average game time over the season

If any of the following situations arise, a coach may use their discretion to give a player less than the playing time
stated above. If a coach wishes to use that discretion, they must provide an explanation in writing to the Technical
Director staff and also the parents of the player involved.

If a player does not attend any scheduled training sessions that week

If a player misses 3 or more sessions in a 6 session period

If a player shows a lack of discipline at training

If a player is recovering from injury, injured on match day or has a discipline issue on match day (e.g.; in
danger of being red carded)
