Learning Standards APA Paper
In this paper it will be discussed how students today use and apply technology with their
education. Discussing the six standards used in schools today will help people get a better
understanding of how technology is important for schools. As technology advances through out
the years it is apparent that we need to adapt as fast as how the technology is growing. If people
do not learn to adapt, then people will be left in the dust with the rocks and sticks still trying to
figure out how fire works.

Creativity and Innovation

Using creative thinking and innovative technology the students demonstrate and develop
models and simulations to explore and identify complex systems and forecast possibilities as
well as they use existing knowledge to generate new ideas and creative thoughts.
Students will use the latest technology today to help them think outside the box and also
for better ideas to stimulate their brains. As technology keeps changing, they too can change and
go with the flow using the latest technology to help them learn in the classroom. Students can go
far beyond the classroom and learn at faster rates with the help of technology. This can apply to
many things as collaboration, calculating math faster, and learning to take classes on how to
make or use this technology in the classroom.

Communication and Collaboration

Students use digital media and environments to collaborate, communicate and interact
with other students, teachers and professionals. They also engage in a cultural and global
awareness and contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.
This means that students and teachers should use tech programs, games, and social media
to their advantages. Since teens and children are so technologically inclined these days teachers
should use these tools so that they can reach their students and teach on their level.

Research and Information Fluency

Students apply digital tools to plan, organize and gather information, in order to be able to
inquire, analyze, organize and evaluate information.
Students can use all sorts of media and technology tools for their education and to further
their learning. They learn at a faster rate with the help of technology. They can use their phones
to take pictures of homework, vocabulary, or quick directions for useful educational purposes.
Power points can also be useful to show case information on their educational projects. Kids
today are becoming more visual learning creatures and need that pocket screen or computer
screen to help them learn if teacher will allow a student to use these things.

Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making

Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve
problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.

They can better organize their ideas, projects, and research with the right technological
tools specifically used for education. This means that Microsoft Word for writing essays, Power
Point, iMovie/Windows Movie Maker, and Prezi are some examples of helping students with
their schoolwork.

Digital Citizenship
Students demonstrate personal development to be lifelong learners because they are aware
of the human, cultural and social issues related to technology and they practice ethical and legal
digital behavior.

With all technology comes responsibility, which students will learn through proper
training and upbringing in this technological age. Using technology in the classroom will help
bring students together on projects, groups, and PBLs. They will learn to work together despite
social, gender, cultural, or racial background.

Technology Operations and Concepts

Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and
operations so they are able to select, transfer, understand and troubleshoot various systems and
applications productively and effectively.

Students will learn how to learn todays technology and future technology to help them
adapt into the 21st century. They will use these skills to help them grow intellectually. They will
learn Microsoft applications and the like in computer-designed classrooms as freshman. This will
help them use the technology a lot easier and faster in later grades.
