To Whom It May Concern: This letter is written to support Jordan Maurice as a future teacher with double majors in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. In addition, Jordan will earn a coaching endorsement, too. Jordan will graduate in May 2016 after having completed all the required coursework and experiences for these degrees. Jordan was a student in the Human Relations course that I taught several semesters ago. I observed him to be a good-natured and reliable young professional who has the best interest of his students in mind. Jordan worked well with others in the class, and his cooperative learning group appreciated his congenial nature. Jordan demonstrates those important teacher qualities in his work at the Great After School Place where he has developed his skills in working and interacting with children, teachers, and parents over the last several years. These experiences and his ability to develop relationships with others are critical to his success as a teacher. I also became acquainted on another level with Jordan when he participated in a Study Abroad Service-Learning course over spring break 2014. As the instructor of this course, I was pleased to have Jordan along as he became an effective role model for the young men at the school we served in Belize, Central America. Jordans good-natured approach to helping others during the various service-projects that we undertook both in the classroom and in construction projects on the school campus made him an effective team member. Jordan willingly undertook whatever was asked of him, and did so with a smile. I have no doubt that Jordan will be a valuable addition to a teaching staff. He will be a role model as a caring and hard-working young professional who demonstrates respect and concern for others. Sincerely,
Mary R. Moeller Associate Professor Teaching, Learning and Leadership SDSU
