Reflection: After watching this video, I noticed that my instruction and introduction to the activity was
clear. I struggle with confidence and I think this showed improvement from previous lessons. My
instructions and introduction was enticing to the students and it was short enough so that the students
could follow along. I definitely see this as one of my strengths because I have a calm and welcoming
tone of voice and the students seemed to respond very well to me. Although I see this as one of my
strengths, it could still use some improvement, but that will come as I get more practice.

Reflection: In this chunk of the video, the students were working independently. My cooperating teacher
has a bravo board in which the different table groups get tally marks if theyre quiet. Whichever table has
the most tallies at the end of the week, they get to have the duckling trophy sitting on their table for the
next week. As the students were working, I noticed some tables being loud and so I announced which
table gets a tally, indirectly reminding the louder tables to quiet down. You may be able to tell that this
strategy works really well because if a student hears another table gets a tally, they want one, too, so they
instantly quiet down.

Reflection: I think that one of my strengths is prompting students, or asking open-ended questions. I think
its really important to prompt students to think deeper and voice their thoughts and opinions. Openended questions allow a lot more students to answer since there are multiple right answers. I think the
students responded well to my questioning and really thought about what the answer could be. This is a
great way to introduce the topic or concept.

Interactive

Reflection: I think one thing that I need to work on is interactive modeling. I have a habit of telling instead
of showing and I really need to find different ways to model concepts for the students in a way that gets
them more involved and helps them become more familiar with the topic. In this clip, I do show some
interactive modeling. I think I did this well, but I want to do more of it. Students need that modeling so
because not everyone can learn just by hearing. They need that interactive aspect to feel more
comfortable and practice with the whole group.
