    Dear friends, I am very pleased to announce my intention to run for Mayor for the city of Union City in the November 2016 election. My family and I have lived in Union City for over 30 years, and I care deeply about our community. Since 2004, I have served on the City Council, and was on the New Haven Unified School District Board of Trustees eight years prior. As Mayor, I will continue to work hard to protect and enhance our neighborhoods, carefully manage growth, fight for social justice, protect the safety of our citizens, and maintain fiscal stability. Since the day I have taken office, our city has made remarkable progress, but challenges lie ahead. Our work is not over yet. The absence of money budgeted for redevelopment, taken by the state a couple of years ago, requires vision to overcome a unique obstacle to continue to grow Union City. As we move forward, I will strive to push hard to have the quality of living preserved for our citizens. As you very well know, running for office is extremely expensive and the cost of getting my message across to my constituents is critical. With your financial support, I will be able to reach the voters in a timely manner.
