Math We tested over Topic 6 and have already started Topic

7. In Topic 7 students will be learning how to multiply and divide by decimals.
Reading Next week, we will be back to our text book. Our
story will be The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. We will be
working on two main skills...authors purpose and sequencing.
GrammarWe will be reviewing the first part of next week in
preparation for a Unit 2 grammar quiz. This quiz will on Thursday.
Writing We will be working on persuasive writings. Students will be given a topic for a debate and they must persuade the listener/ reader to their point of view.
Spelling Study for this weeks spelling test. The words are
focusing on the final syllable. You can find the words on
www.spellingcity/triton5 for more practice.
Social Studies We have been studying early explorers in
Social Studies. We have learned about Columbus, Cabot, Magellan, and Vespucci just to name a few. We have traced their
voyages in out notebooks. Next week will be wrapping up this
chapter. We will be reviewing and the chapter 3 test will be on
Wednesday. Students have a study guide already!
Science This week we have spent a lot of time studying
the moon and its phases. We will be reviewing next week and
there will be a Unit 3 science test on Thursday. Please encourage you student to be studying. These are not easy test, but
the ISTEP review questions will be very helpful.

Lots of test coming up next week!

Best way to be successful is to study a little bit at a time.
Be safe if you are planning to go trick-or-treating!

Note From the Teacher:

A big thank you to all the parents to sent in goodies to our Flashlight Friday. It was a lot
of fun. We cleared out the desks and camped out on the floor. We learned about the history of
Halloween, bats, and the moon phases.
Tupperware sales have wrapped up. We earned approximately $1300 towards Camp Amigo. 5th grade is also helping ACES with the concession stand during the boys basketball season
and putting that money towards Camp Amigo also. Next money maker for Camp will be the
selling of Mudlove bracelets. They will be $5 and you can get them any 5th grade teacher!
More information to come later.
