1.6 Summary
This section has set the scene for projects by describing organisations and the players —
sponsor, champion, client, customer, owner and other stakeholders. It showed how
organisations can go about identifying their mission and objectives, how those objectives and
the strategies to achieve them can be explored and refined in a structured way, how problems
can be analysed and then, broadly, how the feasibility of various possible actions can be
determined. It is then up to management to decide which actions to pursue.
