Zero: Stay
on green
and earn
class
dollar.

First:
Verbal
warning

Second:
Move
clip/card
to yellow
and time
out for ten
minutes.

Consequences

Third:
Move
clip/card
to orange
and eat
lunch in
office after
recess.

Fourth:
Move
clip/card to
red and
send note
home to
parents for
them to sign
and return
the next
day.

Whole Group: Extra recess or fun brain break


can be earned when typical students are being
model students and I.E.P. students are
improving on their behavior goals.
Individual: If on green by the end of the day
student will earn an classroom dollar. When
student collects 10 dollars, they may purchase
a toy from the treasure box. Student will earn
class dollars throughout the day when caught
being a model student.

Rewards

As a current instructional assistant in the Clark County


School District, I have found many techniques for
rewards and consequences to be useful and some to
be improved. I know that these techniques will
change over time, but they work for the time being.
The children I am working with have responded to this
system positively. I know that children need structure
and this works for the kids and myself and other
educational professionals.
