WALTER ELIAS

DISNEY

Grown in a farm near

Marceline, Missouri, Walt was
interested in drawing
immediately already from early
age, selling his first sketches to
neighbors when it had only
seven years.

Determined to follow an
artistic career, it moved to
Kansas City. His brother Roy
was employed at a bank of
the zone, and thanks to a
friend it obtained a work in
the Pesemen-Rubin Art
Studio

In 1922 it founded the

company Laugh-O-Gram
Films, Inc., dedicated to make
animated shorts based on
popular fairy-tales and
statements for children, as
Cinderella or The cat with
boots.

Alice's Wonderland sent the

movie to the distributor of
New York Margaret Winkler

It met his brother Roy and

convinced him in order that he
was taking charge of the
economic management of the
studio. Roy agreed.
