AcademyHighSchoolisconsideredfamilyorientated.Therelationshipbetween
staffandstudentsisaveryclosebondthatissentimental.Thestafftreatsthestudents
asiftheyweretheirkidstokeepacloserelationshipenvironment.Ifanystudentisin
needofhelpwhetherit'sschoolorpersonalrelatedtheywilltrytheirbesttobetherefor
everyAcademystudentinanypossiblewaythattheycan.Thereisagreat
communicationinthisschool,weareneverafraidtoaskifwerehavingproblemsor
don'tunderstandcurriculumbecausethereisalwaysapersonwillingtohelpyou.We
havelotsoftraditionsinAcademythatweholdtothispresentday.Wehavepep
assemblies,whicharealwaysablastandarebondingmomentsfortheschool.All
gradesincludingtheteachersbattleeachotheringamesandwhoeverwinsthemost
gamesanddominatestherestwins.Eachclasshasachantandtheycompetetosee
whohasthebestchant,loudestcrowdandmostcoordinatedandcarriesthemostspirit.
Attheendofeachquarterwehonorthosewhohavewentbeyondschoolstandardsand
giveoutAcademicAwards.Alsointheendoftheschoolyearwecelebrateeachclass
forpassingtheclassofthatyearandeachclassmovesseatstotheuppergradesseats
toshowthattheyarethenextgenerationfortheirclass.Thebiggestpartofthis
assemblyistocongratulatetheseniorsforfinishinghighschoolandmovingonto
adulthoodandtosucceedintheirnewjourney.Thereisbabypicturesandcurrent
picturesofeverysenior.Duringtheassembliesthereisalwaysblingingofthestudents.

studentparticipatesinasubjectofscience,technology,engineering,andmathematics.
Thisschoolisshowingthestudentstofocusonthesesubjectstohelpgainskillsto
succeedinlifeandtopreparefortheseaspects.Studentsactlikescientistonatypical
daytheyaredoinglabs:observing,recordingdata,hypothesis,proceduresforan
experiment.Thestudentsusageoftechnologyrangesfromtakingaquiz,checkingtheir
gradesand/orgoingtoateacher'swebpagetolookatanassignmentorcompletingan
assignmentonthecomputer,aswellasturninginassignmentsthroughthecomputer.
ThepillarsinAcademyareknowntobe:perseverance,integrity,respect,responsibility,
courage,andcuriosity
.
Eventhoughsomethingsmightbetoughtoaccomplishkids
showperseverancebyaccomplishingtheworkeventhroughthedifficultiesand
showingintentiontounderstandthework.Academystudentshaveintegritytheyhave

thequalityofbeinghonest.Theyrespecttheteachers,studentsandmaterials
presentedtothemhereatschool,theyneverdegradesomebody/something.
Responsibilityisagoodqualitythestudentshave,theytakecareof
adutythatneeds
to
beaccomplishedanddonotprocrastinate.Theywillhavecourageeventhoughthey
areafraidofdoingsoandwillexceedexponentiallyinsituationsthatrequirecourage.
LastpillarAcademystudentsshowiscuriositytheyhaveaneagernesstoknoworlearn,
thisisshownbyaskingquestions,beingengagedandlearning.
Theprocesstocreatingagreatlogo.FortheAcademyHighSchoolTshirtsisa
process.Youhavetoknowwhoyouarerepresentingandwhatyouwantthatlogoto
sayaboutthestudentsandstaffofAcademy.KnowingtheschoolitsaSTEMschool
whichstandsforscience,technology,engineering,andmath.Oneneedstoknowhow
toincorporateallthepartsoftheschoolandstilllooksimpleandattractive.Creatingthe
logowasalittlecomplicatedbutnotimpossible.Wetookmanyfontsandideasfromour
designerstoaccomplishandchoosethelogothatwethoughtwasattractiveandsimple
yetstillrepresentedthestudents,staff,andschool.
Thislogorepresentsacademyinmanydifferentaspects.Thecolorsallmesh
togetherwiththeschoolcolorsthatare:White,Black,Silver,andPurple.Thelinesto
theleftofthelogorepresentclawmarksSkyviewisknownforbeingWolverines.A
robot,chemical,mathsymbols,andgearsallstandsforstemwithatreeattheendto
representthefactweareastemschool.ThelogotiestogethertobringAcademyintoa
picture/logothatrepresentsourschoolinaformofart.Thislogosaysalotwitha
simpledesignandwillspeakforitself.
Theprincipalsofmakingagoodlogoincludesitbeingsimple,memorable,
timeless,versatileandappropriate.MiltonGlaseristhebestknowngraphicdesignerof
theILoveNewYorklogo.Heseessimplicityandmovingtheviewerasanimportant
parttocreatingapowerfullogo.Sowhentheyfirstlookatthelogotheygetanideaof
whattheyaretryingtogetouttothepublicandmessagetheyaretryingto
communicate.Agoodlogomustbesimpleandconveysanintendedmessagetoview
orpublicthatitisbeingdisplayedto.Thelogomustbesimpleandrecognizableand
uniquesothattheviewerknowswhatitiswithoutbeingoverdrawnoroverdoneandfor
thelogonottobeoverpowering.Agreatlogowillbeattractivebutwillalsohavea
