The Governments in Pakistan, India, and Britain have tried to bury Allama Mashriqi, his family, and the
Khaksar Tehriks role in history, despite their tremendous sacrifices in bringing freedom to the subcontinent (now Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh). Each Government seems to have its own reasons for
suppressing Mashriqi and the Khaksars. In Pakistan, it is because of Mashriqis opposition to partition,
political differences with Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, etc. In India, it is because of Mashriqis
political differences with Mahatma Gandhi, etc. And in Britain, it is because Mashriqi did not work with
the British rulers of the time, fought to end their rule in India, etc. Just because Mashriqi had differing
views, however, does not mean that these Governments should be able to use it as justification for suppressing his pivotal role in the freedom movement.
The Governments of Pakistan, India, and Britain should publically release Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehriks documents, pamphlets, booklets,
newspapers, photo albums and other materials (which were confiscated before and after the partition of India in 1947). In addition, they should release
information on Mashriqis trips to foreign countries and correspondence with world leaders and other prominent individuals. In the absence of these
historical documents, an unbiased and balanced history of the freedom movement of the sub-continent is not possible.
