RESEARCH PROJECTS
Master degree projects:
1.

Project on speech recognition:

Successfully demonstrated the processing and recognition of given speech samples in Matlab (both male
and female voice). Voice feature of the sample signal was extracted by evaluating MFCC

Project guide: Prof. W.Kasprzak, Faculty of Electronics and Info. Technology, WUT.

2.

Kinematic modelling of Seekur Jr Terabot S Manipulator:

Analytically solved the direct and inverse kinematic problem of the Terabot S manipulator (a 5 degree
of Freedom Manipulator) available at the faculty of Power and Aeronautics, WUT. Simulated and
verified the solution using Matlab.

Developed software program in C (ARIA) for human detection & following by manipulator.

Project guide: Prof. Teresa Zielinska, Faculty of Power & Aeronautics, WUT.

3.

Robot inspired by infant crawling

Developed a realistic mechanical design with kinematic structure and control system mimicking the
crawling gait of infants and simulated the same.

Broad study and investigation had been carried out to draw conclusions on advantages, limitations and
overall comparison of infant crawling gait over the conventional quadruped gait.

Project guide: Prof. Teresa Zielinska.

4.

Hand gestures controlled quad-copter based on integral back-stepping control technique:

Designed, built and tested a quad-copter controlled by human hand gestures.

Incorporated an innovative feature of detecting human from an on-board camera and automatic follow
of the detected human. Tested the flight system successfully.

Work accepted for publishing in International Academy of Engineers press.

5.

Study of human locomotion (Master thesis)

Modelling of biped robot. Perform kinematics and dynamics analysis of walking gaits.

Carry out simulations of the biped locomotion from a data set containing ground reaction forces
obtained from a normal human walking.

Develop a Matlab simulation platform for carrying out gait analysis.

Project guide: Prof. Teresa Zielinska.

Bachelor Degree Projects:

6.

Water quality Monitoring Instrument (Aquamon):

Designed & developed a simple and novel instrument called Aquamon for pH, chlorine
concentration and turbidly measurements of a water sample.

Presented a paper at ISSS conference held at Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore, India.
The paper rated among the top six in the conference.

7.

Pressure sensor based on split mass concept:

Designed, fabricated and built absolute and differential pressure sensor using split mass concept.
Thesis submitted during final year for engineering graduation.

8.

Development of communication protocol conversion software for Electrostatic Precipitators

(ESPs):

Developed Gateway software for communication of ESP controllers to DCS controller in Bharat
Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the leading Power Plant Manufacturer in India. Used
Motorola MCF5282 Controller.
