We are trapped!!!!

In Escher's works everything is interconnected, everything has its own space, there
is no room for emptiness.

As we can see in this picture, some animals seem to be trapped. Are we, as human
beings trapped in the same way?
Can we see the same pattern in nature? Aren't the ecosystems a combination of
multiple factors that work together and need each other to their existence? Are
human beings interfering into this equilibrium? What are we doing? What are the
consequences of our actions? Why are we doing this? What kind of future are we
expecting? How will life on Earth be for future generations? Are we doing enough?
