    After World War I, tensions rose and World War II broke out as Germany, Japan, and Italy allied against France, England, the USA, Russia, and China. While initially objective, the USA supported England by loaning destroyers. On December 7, 1941, Japan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, damaging several US warships. In response, the US declared war on Japan, Germany, and Italy. Japan then occupied the Philippines and imprisoned thousands of Filipino soldiers and civilians, ultimately killing an estimated 1 million Filipinos by the end of the war. Japan also captured numerous islands in the Pacific and Southeast Asia.

    WORLD WAR II

    After World War l and unsorted problems World War ll bursted out.
    German, Japan and Italy made allies against France, England, USA, Rusia
    and China who had limited power.

    USA was objective but supporting England. For instand USA loaned
    50 destroyers to England.

    7th December of 1941 , 360 Japanese combat planes attacked the


    USA ships in Pearl Harbor. They damaged 6 of 8 warships but the base
    wasn't effected by the attack. After this developement USA Congress
    decided to hit Japan, Germany and Italy.

    After Pearl Harbor, Japanese combat planes acted on Philippine


    Islands."The Japanese occupation of the Philippines was the period in the history of the
    Philippines between 1942 and 1944, when the Japanese Empire occupied American-
    controlled Philippines during World War II."(1)

    Later these island were surrounded by Japanese army. USA and Philippine
    powers under the command of Douglas Macarthur were defeated and had
    to left the area."Twelve Million US dollars were provided to the Commonwealth for the
    establishment of the Philippine Army in 1936. In the early years of the Commonwealth, the
    Philippine Army was composed of an Active Duty and a Reserve Component."(2)

    in May 1942 Japan prisoned 36 thousand soldiers and 25 thousand


    civilians."An estimated 1 million Filipinos had been killed, a large proportion during the
    final months of the war." (3)Japan continued to attack and took Guam and Wake
    Islands from USA , Hong Kong from England. Japan army moved to Tayland
    and occupied Malaya and moved to Singapure. Singapure surrendered in
    February. After that Saravak, Brunei, Timor, Cava, Sumatra, Selebes, New
    Britain, Solomon Islands, east of New Gine, Gilbert Islands, Andaman
    Islands and Aluet Islands were taken by Japan. The powers that tried to
    defend the land gave great losses.

    By these attacks Japan conquered the islands that were controlling


    Southeast Asia. Also Japan continued and took Birmania. England power
    had to move to India because of Japan.
