Yearsago,whenayoungwomansetoutfromAlabamatogotocollegeinCalifornia,her
uncletoldherthestoryofhowCaliforniawasborn.America,yousee,waspopulatedby
peoplewhojustdidnotfitinbackinEurope:religiousfanatics,horsethieves,bail
jumpers,fortuneseekers,andotherfootloosefolk.WhentheysettledontheEastCoast,
theoneswhodidntfitintheremovedalittlefurtherWestandsettled.Thosewhodidnt
fitinthere,movedstillfurtherWest.Andsoon,andsoforth,untiltheyreachedthe
WestCoastandcouldntgoanyfurther.Thentheystartedcollecting.Andthatswhat
explainsCalifornia,thegreatculturalgranolaoffruits,nuts,andflakes.
Ilaughed,ofcourse,whenshetoldthisstory,becauseasanativeWesterner,Iknow
thatitistrue.IgrewupintheinlandNorthwest,butwhenIfirstvisitedtheWestCoast,
IknewthatIwasathome.TheWestCoastoftheUnitedStates,fromSanDiegoto
Seattle,istheclosestthingIhaveexperiencedtoanearthlyparadise.Wehavethebest
climateinthecountry.Thetemperatureisalmostalwaysmild,nomatterwhereones
areafallsonthespectrumfromsteadysunshinetoperpetualgloom.Asidefromthe

coastlineitself,wehavesomeofAmericasmostbeautifullandscapes,rangingfrom
desertstotoweringsnowcappedvolcanoestorainforests.WehaveAmericasbestfoodandwines,someofitsmost
beautifulcities,andsomeprettyformidableculturalresources.No,wedonothavetheartmuseumsofNewYorkCity,
Washington,D.C.,andBoston.No,wedonothavetheMetropolitanOpera.Butwecanalwaysvisitthemduringthetwo
weeksoftheyearwhenthosecitiesareneitherfreezingnorsweltering,thenhastenbacktowherelivingiseasy.
TheWestCoastalsohasalotofwhitepeople.SeattleandPortlandarethewhitestlargecitiesintheUnitedStates,and

outsidethecities,WashingtonandOregonareevenwhiter.California,ofcourse,isnowmajoritynonwhite,although
whitesremainthelargestethnicgroup.
TheracialqualityofWesternwhitesisalsoveryhigh.Furthermore,whiteWesternersreallyaremorelaidbackandfun
loving.Westernfriendlinessisnotjustpoliteness.Itiscombinedwithgenuineopenness.CityfolkoutWesttendtobe
muchlesspretentiousthancityfolkbackEast.EveninSanFrancisco.
ManyWhiteNationalistshopethatwhentheUnitedStatesfallsapart,aWhiteRepublicwillemergeinthePacific
Northwest,encompassingWashington,Oregon,Idaho,andpartsofMontanaandevensomepartsofNorthernCalifornia.
HaroldCovington[2]isthechiefpromoterofthisidea,butheisnotitsoriginatororsoleproponent.ThereareWhite
NationalistsmovingtotheNorthwestwhoarenotpartofCovingtonsNorthwestFront[3].
ThechiefobjectiontotheideaofaNorthwestHomelandisthatWestCoasttendstobesociallyandpoliticallyliberal,even
thoughtheinlandWesttendstobesociallyandpoliticallyconservative.So,theargumentgoes,thePacificNorthwestis
lesshospitabletoaWhiteRepublicthanother,moreuniformlyconservativeareas.(OfcoursethecreationofaWhite
RepublicwillbeanuphillbattleanywhereinAmerica.)
WhiteNationalismis,ofcourse,overwhelminglyassociatedwiththepoliticalrightbothinEuropeandAmerica.ButWhite
Nationalismwillnevertriumphifitremainsconfinedtothepoliticalright.Whiteconsciousnessmustbecomehegemonicup
anddownthepoliticalspectrum.Whiteliberalsandleftistswillhavetorealizethattheirvaluesarenotuniversal
aspirationsofallmankind.Theyare,instead,expressionsofadistinctlywhiteconsciousnessandwillnotsurviveorflourish
inanonwhitesociety.
Thereisnothingabsurdabouttheideaofaraciallyconsciousleft,muchlessaraciallyconsciousleftontheWestCoast.
Indeed,ithasalreadyexisted,anditsheadquarterswasrighthereintheSanFranciscoBayArea.ItwasherethatDenis
Kearney[5],18471907,animmigrantfromIreland,foundedtheCaliforniaWorkingmansPartytocombatChinese
immigration.ItwasherethatJackLondon,18761916,wrotepassionatelyonbehalfofbothsocialismandracialism(and
experimentedwithecologicallysustainableagriculture).ItwasherethatMichaelOMeara[6]wasbornin1946andbegan
hisintellectualodysseyfromMarxistandrevolutionarysyndicalisttoWhiteNationalistandprophetoftheWhiteRepublic.
Furthermore,IhavenoticedthattodaysWestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobesociallyandevenpoliticallymoreleft

wingthanWhiteNationalistsfromotherpartsoftheUnitedStates.Illneverforgetthe
eveningin2003when,ataDavidIrvinglectureinSanFrancisco,Imetadaughterofthe
60scounterculturewhotoldmethathertwofavoritebooksareTheLordoftheRingsand
MeinKampf.
WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtohavehigherSWPLQs(StuffWhitePeopleLike[7]
Quotients)thanWhiteNationalistsinotherpartsoftheUS.(Iliked122/150SWPLinthe
firstStuffWhitePeopleLike[8] book,butonly41/92SWPLinWhiterShadesofPale[9] .)
WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobemorestronglyconcernedwithenvironmental
preservation,healthyandsustainablelifestyles,andcombatinganimalcrueltythanWhite
NationalistsinotherpartsoftheUS.IfSavitriDeviwerealivetoday,shewouldbe
smugglingstraycatsintoanorganicgardeningcommuneinBerkeley.
WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobemorecriticaloftheworkingsofunrestrainedglobal
capitalism.Weareprolabor,protectionist,prozoning,andprosmallbusiness.

WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobemorenonChristianandtobemorehonestaboutit
thanotherWhiteNationalists.Iknowatheists,agnostics,neopagans,NewAgers,andevensomewhohavemade
extensivestudyandpracticeofEasternphilosophiesandreligions.Religiouspluralismandtolerancewoulddefinitelybe
featuresofaWestCoastWhiteRepublic.
WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobemoretolerantofhomosexuals,bisexuals,androphiles,andnoneoftheaboves
whoputtheirracialidentityfirst.
WestCoastWhiteNationaliststendtobemoretolerantofdrugslikemarijuanaandpsychedelics.
WestCoastWhiteNationalistsarefarlesshunguponsubracialdistinctionsandOldWorldfeudsthanWhiteNationalistsin
theEastandSouth.Wetendtothinkofourselvesaswhitesfirstandforemost.
Theseare,ofcourse,generalizationsbasedonpersonalexperience,notsociologicalsurveys.Theyare,furthermore,
tendencies,notgeneralrulesoruniversalgeneralizations.Thereareobviouslymanyexceptions.ButWhiteNationalismis
thestuffofdreamsanyway.Sowiththatcaveat,Ithinkthereisreasontobelievethat,ifaraciallyconsciousleftarises
again,itwillbeontheWestCoast.
