Postmodernism is about challenging the morals and set

structures which have been built by society. In the short

storys The Werewolf and Company of Wolves we are able to
articulate the strong reference to postmodernism through
theyre ante stereotypical view of a little girl who is portrayed
as strong and independent in The werewolf whereas in
Company of Wolves she is depicted as ignorant and
imprudent as she is charmed by the hunts men who she later
has a relationship with.

Through out the text The werewolf the girl is represented as

a strong and capable character, which is a contradictory
description as girls of that time were seen as posh and
refined. We are able to get a sense of her personality when
she says any but a mountaineers child would have died of
fright at the sight of it this shows her courage towards the
situation in addition to how ready she was for the event she
heard that freezing howl of a wolf, dropped her gifts, seized
her knife and turned on the best. From these events we able
to perceive the strong personality as well as her clam in the
scene of adversity which were traits quite uncommon to girls
of the time.

The Company of wolfs portrays the main character more to

the time but explores the timeless message of dont judge a
book by its cover as well as relationships. The huntsman a.k.a
the werewolf at first glance froze her with his beauty shed
never seen such a fine fellow before, not among the rustic
clowns of her native village. And so is soon charmed into his
cunning plan. Later on it is seen that their relationship from
strangers has grown more interment See! sweet and sound
she sleeps in grannys bed, between the paws of the tender
wolf. This shows the troubles, which are faced with quick and
rash dissections and how not to just trust someone at first
glance.

Through challenging the structures of gender and

relationships we can see the postmodern aspects of the texts
The werewolf and A company of wolves. It emphases how
Girls to can be seen as strong and authoritative figures in
novels as the fact we should not get to close to someone in a
short period of time.
