Welcome to Spanish I for the 2015-2016 school year! I know this will be a year full of
accomplishments for both of us. We will learn that when we work hard towards our goal,
we receive more than we expect. This course is designed to help develop proficiency in
speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing, as well as to develop an
understanding of the culture associated with the language.
SUPPLIES
3-ring binder (1 or bigger) with filler/lined paper (college or wide ruled)
Dividers (8 pack)
#2 pencils and blue or black ink pens
Highlighters (2 or 3) any colors
Index cards (optional, but helpful for vocabulary)
Espaol 1 booklet supplied by me

Late Work: Per MRHS campus policy, work that is one day late can receive a maximum
grade of 75%. Work that is 2 days late will receive a maximum grade of 50%. Work such
as homework that is corrected for accuracy in class may not be accepted late. Please do
not get in the habit of turning in work late.

ABSENCES
It is the students responsibility to complete any missed work during his/her absence(s),
with or without teacher reminder. Two days per absent day are given to turn in work (any
exceptions will be discussed with student). There will be a designated table where all
missed work will be filed by day. Students should collect work and then ask teacher if
there is anything else needed to be completed.
TUTORIALS
Available Tuesdays** and Wednesdays 2:45 pm-3:15 pm
If for any reason tutorials cannot be provided on one of these days, the students will be notified the day
before. Additionally, the Enrichment period is available for tutorials and make up work completion. If
needed, morning tutorials will be provided by another Spanish 1 teacher on Wednesdays and Thursdays
from 6:45-7:15 am. Students will be given name and location.
**There are late tutorial busses on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 pm starting Sept. 8, 2015 for your
convenience.
