Curriculum content description: (from ACARA)
Understand how punctuation is used along with layout and font variations in
constructing texts for different audiences and purpose (ACELA1556)

Students prior knowledge and experience:


Students have been given prior lessons on use of paragraphs and understand use of T.E.X.T
(Topic statement, Explanation, eXample, tie off). Students are still struggling to put this
technique in to practice.

Preparation and Resources:

Utilise Edmodo as that is what students are accustomed too. Enables us to edit with
them on their computers and allows them opportunity to be able to reflect back on
errors and utilise feedback given to improve their writing.
BYOD will need to be accessed on personal computer to be able to view the students
work.
Prepare reinforcement methods if needed (reward: chocolate/sticker, punishment:

note in diary/detention)

Catering for diversity

educational/resource adjustments)

Look on schools Sector program which allows access to any learning issues
students currently have, as well as attendance issues and education plans.
Some students may require more help and one on one time to edit and process their
work and information.
Students computers may not be working and therefor a desktop can be utilised or
work printed prior to class.

Learning Experiences:

Ask students what they have learnt, refresh and familiarise them with the
concept of T.E.X.T

2. Sequence of learning experiences: (What will you do to help the


students achieve the learning objectives? What tasks and activities will
the students be involved in to help achieve the learning objectives?)
Go through the students work with them and edit with them,
Ask them to reread aloud and see if there are any grammatical issues to
then be edited,
Check that their paragraphs follow guideline of T.E.X.T and allow
additional help to concrete the concepts.

Get students to have a go at editing a paragraph by themselves and
check over it.
