This is the format for how to write your bean germination lab report. This
should be on consecutive pages of your Lab Notebook. Write the headings
that are highlighted in yellow and then fill in the rest based on YOUR OWN
DATA! The examples shown (not highlighted) are specific to Ms. Baynes
experiment. Your data will be different and should be specific to what you
saw happen.
Procedure:
1. Open the plastic bag and label
it Control with your names.
2. Fold up the paper towel.
3. Place the paper towel in the
bag with 3 black beans on top.
4. Measure 10mL of water and
add to the bag.
5. Seal up the bag.
6. Place it on the appropriate tray
on the back counter.
Experimental Group:
Materials:
List out your materials used for your experimental bag set-up. This will
be almost exactly the same as the Control Group Materials EXCEPT for
the addition of the independent variable.
Procedure:
Then write out your step-by-step procedure. This will also be almost
exactly the same as the Control Group Procedure EXCEPT will contain
the step where you add the independent variable.
8. Conclusion:
My hypothesis is supported by the data because there was no bean
growth in the experimental group (grown in vinegar). Vinegar did not
cause the black beans to sprout any faster than water.
