Expectations

Follow directions the first time.


Be in the classroom and seated when the bell rings.
Bring all supplies to class everyday (3-ring binder, looseleaf paper, calculator, pencil, etc).
Check progress book frequently.
Be respectful to teachers and each other.
Work on math only during math class.
No cell phone usage in class.
Be open-minded and ask questions to gain knowledge.
Be engaged, be positive, by productive

Homework

Completed daily by showing all necessary work. Answers alone will not be considered complete and no
credit will be given. We expect that all assignments will be turned in on time. Late assignments will not be
accepted.
Homework is to be completed in pencil only.
Assignments will be posted in the classroom and on class website for your reference.
When absent, students are responsible to look up the assignment on website and print off any necessary
notes / worksheets.

Notebooks

Notebooks should be brought to class daily (3-ring binder with loose leaf paper).
Contains completed note outlines, worksheets, and graded assessments.
Students should expect notebook checks several times per week.
Notebook quizzes are unannounced quizzes that come directly from previous class notes. If a student takes
complete class notes, it is entirely possible to get a 100% on every notebook quiz.
If absent, student is responsible to update notebook by consulting website, a peer, or sample notebook in
class.

Attendance

Regular attendance is crucial to academic success.


Students with unexcused absences will receive a zero for missed work.
Students with excused absences are responsible for making up missing work when they return to school.
If a student is absent the day before an announced test or quiz they are still responsible for taking the
test/quiz the day they return.

Tutoring

Tutoring is available before and after school Student must make prior arrangements!
May also be available in study hall by peers and teachers.

Cheating and Plagiarism

NRHS policy will be enforced.


Student will receive a zero on the assignment.
This includes copying homework, wandering eyes, sharing calculators during a test, etc.

All tests will be worth 35-55 points, making up 40% of the quarter grade. There will be one test at the end
of each chapter. All tests must be done in pencil or 2 points will be deducted from the test score.
All announced quizzes will be worth 15-30 points, making up 40% of the quarter grade. There will be one to
two quizzes per chapter. All quizzes must be done in pencil or 1 point will be deducted from the quiz score.
Homework assignments are worth 5 points each, making up 20% of the quarter grade.
