you, I will hold the class that same amount of

time after the bell.
O I reserve the right to dismiss the class early, but
I will NEVER dismiss the class early if you start
packing up early or are looking up at the clock.
O If you leave without permission before the bell

rings, you will get a sluff on the roll and I will

call your parents.

Making a Comment
O Raise your hand
O Give whoever is speaking your full

attention
O For any comment you give, THINK
O Is it True
O Is it Helpful
O Is it Insightful
O Is it Necessary
O Is it Kind

Asking Questions
O If you have a question about

something I am saying, raise your

hand.
O I may not call on you right away,
but I will nod at you to show you
that I saw you.
O If you have a question that is not
what we are talking about, save it for
later.

If You Need a Drink

O Get a drink before class.
O Bring a water bottle. (No sugar or

colored drinks.)

have five minutes, and there are lots of

bathrooms in the school.
O You will not be excused during a test or
while I am talking.
O Additionally, you will receive ONE restroom
permit per term. You may use this permit or
turn it in at the end of the term for extra
credit. If you loose it, snooze you loose.

Garbage
O Take care of your own trash.
O NEVER use the trash can as a

basketball hoop.
O Throw away garbage before or after
class.

were doing art projects.)

O Please remember to recycle

whenever possible

class and during individual work.

That means:
O Do not sharpen your pencil while I am

website to find it.
O Lowenglish.com

O You have one week from the time you were

absent to turn in homework.

Late Work
O You can turn work in late, but it WILL

affect your grade.

O Your score will be docked up to 30%
if you turn it in late.

Grading Late Work

O Mrs. Low grades late work once a week.
O Regular grading will always come first,

but Mrs. Low will always get your late

work graded before grades are sent
home.
O Until your late work is graded, it will be
entered as a zero on the computer. That
zero will go away and be replaced by
your real grade as soon as the
assignment is graded.

Graded Homework
O Mrs. Low will pass graded homework

back for you to look at (usually on

Mondays).
O NEVER throw graded homework
away. If there is a computer or
human error, youll want to have that
work to show that you did the
assignment.
O After you look at your homework, put
it in the short filing cabinet next to
Mrs. Lows desk.

No Name Papers
O Always put your first and last names and

class period in the upper right hand corner of

your assignments.
O Failure to put your first and last name or
class period on assignments will result in a
10% loss. That means that if you do an
assignment perfectly but forget to put your
name on it, you will get a 90% on that
assignment instead on 100%.

Telephone
O There is a phone in the office for students to

use.
O You will only be allowed to use it during class

for a true emergency.

O If you need to call home because you forgot
an assignment, do it between classes.

O Dont tell her about it. She can hear it.
O She may ask you to answer it for her.
O That is not a reason to start talking, so dont.
