Your job is to prepare a brief summary of today's reading.

The other

members of your group will be counting on you to give a summary that conveys the
key points, the main highlights of today's reading assignment. It is a good idea to jot
down the main events on scratch paper before you complete this form. Be sure to
write your summary in complete sentences!
When you have finished your summary, give your summary a short title that
is different from the title of the story--something that captures the main idea.
My Title: The face of Iran we dont know yet.
Summary:
Iran is a country that has been on war several times, where religion takes an important
place in politics and there is a huge sense of gun cultutre. Right after the war against
Iraq, the country was smarter in terms of weapons and bombs. A huge sense of
martyrdom was born, especially in the armed forces. One of the main reasons that being a
martyr is so important in their society is because of religion; there is a huge reward to the
martyrs acccording to the Muslim religion.
Iran is a country that has been rising in the last years and they are about to achieve
warfare and control of supplies. This huge growth is thanks to ther confidence as a
country and because of their war experiences during the XX century. It is a country that
has been slowly transformed from a terrorist power into a country full of ambitions, ready
to challenge the United States in several aspects. This ambition can be seen on the
creation of several nuclear weapons. They have an ambition and a clear strategy, specially
regarding national security.
As a western society, we still think that Iran is a country still ruled by the Muslim
fundamentalism but we are not aware of several facts regarding the countrys
modernization in terms of security, weapons and economy.

My comment or question about this story is:

Western countries are used to see Eastern countries as dangerous places, where theres
no liberty nor economic progress. We are caught up in a bubble, thinking that these
countries are ruled basically by religion, especially Islamic Fundamentalism. What we
dont know is that several countries, such as Iran, have recovered from several wars
and are now trying to modernize in a lot of aspects. We should open up our eyes and
start to be more tolerant towards Eastern countries and understand the struggles thay
