Accomplishment Report

During the Two-day Seminar

On Disaster Risk Reduction
And Disaster Risk Management
As per requirement for our NSTP-LTS graduation we attended a two-day seminar
on Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Risk Management last _____________. The
seminar was held at the BUPC gymnasium and was attended by all the NSTP
students. It
was facilitated by the NSTP Organization officers.
We have learned a considerable amount of information regarding the theme of the
seminar from the guest speaker Engineer Alvin O. Magdaong. He taught us how to
keep
ourselves and our families safe during earthquakes, typhoons, tsunamis
and other
calamities that we may encounter in our place. We are also taught how to make an
assessment report on the damages that our community may face during these
unexpected
disasters. We are given evaluation sheets to be accomplished by course and to have
a
report about our findings.
We also learned how to plot a typhoons path according to the predictions made by
weather forecasters. We practiced typhoon plotting and mapping using the
typhoon
mapping chart given to us by Engineer Magdaong, himself.
The seminar was never made boring by Engr. Magdaongs occasional brain
teasers, trivia and little jokes that brought us all screwing our brains or laughing our
hearts out.
The seminar was brought to a close by the showcase of talents by various

representative of every course present during the activity. After which, we went
home
loads richer not in money or gold but with knowledge that we gained during the
two-day
seminar that we are to share to our communities.
