Rationale
I have never gone through an experience of designing a test with the purpose
of been part of an assignment. Now that we are aware of issues such as face
validity, content, item design, instructions, objectivity, and some others aspects, the
design of a test turns into an analyzing situation. Each word I add or each activity I
design should be checked more than twice.
To start talking a little bit about the reasons objectives or perspectives of this
test is important to mention that this exam will also work to evaluate the student's
progress during the application of a website as a tool for them to practice their
grammar knowledge. This website is also my final graduation project which is going
to be conducted together with Luis Roberto Pineda Canales.
One of the main aspects of our project is to work on authentic materials and
exercises to help students contextualize their learning process. For this reason, Most
of the items of the test are based on authentic materials so that students put into
practice what they have practice before in class and put into practice some cultural
elements as part of their language learning. For this reason, in the first section of the
exam there is a audio or video which is performed by a native speaker, this audio
lets students perceive the language in an authentic way. The second part is based
on a reading which is given to the students with the purpose of identifying edendings, irregular verbs , and auxiliaries. This elements are taught in context which
is important for the students to identify the grammar tense in structures. The third
and fourth parts are somehow communicative and let students produce and
generate knowledge. The fact of having students interact with others or produce the

language by themselves let them get feedback from others and exchange their
experiences.
