Above is the A blues scale shown in 5 positions. The root notes [ in this case A ] are shown by
the black dots. The blue note [b5] is shown by the blue dot [ inventive arent I ], this note will
lend a blues feel to your lead playing but phrases should not end on it. The other notes in the
scale are shown by the red dots, the roman numerals indicate the frets. This scale is
transpositional and can be played, and should be practiced, in all keys. However, dont try to
learn all the shapes at once. It is more important to know one shape well and be able to use it
to solo, than many shapes and not be able to use them.
