All students and teachers will have access to information technology in their classrooms.
All teachers will use technology effectively in order to help students achievement.
Making sure that all students will have basic skills of using technology.

Schacter, J., & Fagnano, C. (1999). Does computer technology improve student learning
and achievement? How, when, and under what conditions?.Journal of Educational
Computing Research, 20(4), 329-343.

This article above investigates designing technology for students need in order to
improve their learning skills.
There have been widespread claims that technology can make learning easier, more
efficient, and more motivating. Sometimes this approach can take educator to the wrong
direction. Accepting and implementing technologies to their teaching environments
without training resulted that technology can be used as a not very effective tool. This
study argues that technologies are amazing tool for teaching. However educators need to
know to know how to use it effectively. The technology plan is mostly focusing on using
technology and training process.

I attend social networking training held by State department of education in the school.
The school hosted and invited some key people of state department of education. The
presenters explained using social media websites in the classrooms. During the session,
I had a chance to see some teachers experiences regarding social media with
educational way. Before the training we all thought that social media is not great tool for
teaching. However, we realized that they can be used as an effective learner tool after the
training. The technology plan includes trainings of using technology tools.

CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.

The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools.
What technology is currently available to all teachers?
Currently the school has wired and non-wired (wireless) high speed internet
connection. The official speed of the internet is 100Mbps for download and
25Mbps is upload speed for the school. There are 4 Motorola access point at
some important points of the school. They distribute high speed wireless internet
connections to the entire school.
There are also 2 big size wireless printers for teachers to make copy and print
their materials. Both of them are brand of Sharp and regularly maintained. There
is one network printer for administrators in the admin office area.
There are two computer labs which has 27 and 28 DELL Inspiron All in one
student computers. All the teachers have 27 inch DELL 9010 all in one
computers. Beside the computers all classrooms have projectors. Beside these
devices, all classrooms have 3 laptops for the Accelerated Reader (AR). Also all
teachers have document cameras. Two class set of clickers that teachers can
use for Study Island. Additionally 26 teachers have iPads and 12 tablets.
The school has been using AR system and Study Island since its established.
Beside these two learning systems, the school is also affiliated with NWEA and
USA Test Prep testing system. The school uses those tools for benchmarking
testing.

How are hardware and software currently being used in classrooms at

each grade level and in each content area?
The school is serving K thru 8th grades. The projectors and teachers computers
pretty much uses for all grade levels. For lower grades, computer labs are used
to test their skills. 6th, 7th and 8th grades are scheduled computer labs every 3
times a week. During the computer time, they practices AR and Study Island.
Also they work on their some online projects, assignments, and science
experiments. Additionally all middle school students have dedicated computer
class to learn using them.
Some devices including all desktops, laptops, and tablets (if necessary) are used
for testing. State department of education require students to take the states
tests online. In addition to states tests, benchmark tests that schools offer also
are managed by the computers.

Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.
Is technology currently available to all students?
Generally the technology is available for every single student. The technology
plan is designed that teachers make sure that every single students from lower
grades to the upper grades use the technology available in the site. However,
there are some hardware that students dont use such as network printers and
teacher computers.
Do all student groups have equal and appropriate access to the available
technology?
Since the school has different grade levels, using technology is not equal to all
grade levels. Lower grades use technology less than upper grades. Technology
education increases when students promoted to the next grade level. Usually 7th
and 8th grades are using equal time to appropriate technology in the school.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
What are the LEAs curriculum goals and plans for assisting students to
meet content standards and demonstrate college and career readiness?
According to technology plan, some of the goals are listed as below:

Students will communicate through applications software to create wellwritten documents, spreadsheets and databases, and to use computerassisted design tools.
Students will use technology to access and retrieve, to interpret and evaluate
visual and auditory information using search strategies to retrieve information.
Students will enhance their productivity by using technology to develop
learning and workplace skills.
Students will also develop basic technology skills by selecting and accessing
technology appropriate to needs.

How will your curricular goals and needs influence your technology goals?
The structure of the school based on the technology plan is very simple. First of
all, the curriculum development committee finds out the goals of the academic
part, and then the technology committee researches some effective, appropriate,
suitable, and affordable technologies. This simple approach directs school to
implement technology easily and effectively.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
What LEA board policies will be or have been developed to implement
Internet safety instruction?
Internet security is a big issue in this school. Prior to this technology plan, there
has not been any plan regarding internet security and safety. This has been
added to the plan. According to the technology plan, the schools internet traffic
must be monitored by an available technology in the market. The school board
has approved that the school has to be done by implementing this technology till
the last year of the plan calendar. This academic year (2015-2016), the school is
developing their infrastructure for network monitoring.

How will the library/media center staff assists in ensuring students become
effective users of information technology?
The school has a library which has 6 computers for students. The librarian is also
a former students and a teacher candidate. The main duty of librarian is to train
students how to use Rosetta Stone which is software that loaded in the library
computers and help them to make sure they use the technology in a proper way.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT

The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and

integration skills and needs for professional development.
How does your LEA regularly assess teachers and administrators
personal technology proficiency skills?
There is no tool to assess teacher technology skills in the plan. Usually the
technology committee which is in charge of the technology plan assumes that all
teachers have no technology skills during the trainings. However, some teachers
have better skills then others. The technology committee identifies them based
on their statements and sends them to more advance technology trainings.
Are administrators able to support teachers with the integration of
technology into daily curriculum?
Administrators in the school played important role for the teacher training. Dean
of Academics or central office of the school provided many trainings regarding
using technology. Administrators provide all the expenses of the attendees and
encourage them to go there and find more.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
How will teachers and administrators be trained and provided on-going
support in the effective integration of technology into the curriculum?

Technology plan requires technology committee that trains the staff members or
find training for them. During their regularly technology meetings, one of the main
item is training staff members. In addition to that, technology coordinators along
with the help of other campuses technology coordinators help and train all staff
members. They also provided ongoing support during their work hours if teachers
need special help on specific technology tools.

What professional learning will be available so teachers and administrators

can effectively use technology to assist with student assessment?
Technology plan requires technology coordinator to provide a how-to
documentation to the staff. This tool or document provides some basic
information on how to use some main tools during regular school days. In
addition, the coordinator also share some useful websites, videos, screen
casting, and online learning websites to the staff members in order to learn the
technology tools.
INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND
ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,

technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.
What technologies are available to facilitate home/school communication
such as email, web pages, and voice mail?
The school website plays an important role for the communication. It posts news,
announcements, and information about the school. The school has been using
Google tools since its started. Google tools provided the following: email,
calendar, websites, online payments, chat, online classroom environments, etc.
Along with these useful tools, the school also has a mass calling system called
School Messenger. Its a powerful tool to reach parents and staff members in one
call.

What technology access do parents have at home? What technologies do

parents prefer for home/school communication?
The main tools for the communication between parents and school is website,
School Messenger, and weekly letters sent by the school. Since the school is
located mostly economically disadvantages neighborhood, most of the parents
prefer School Messenger and letters with the translation. The school website is
not widely used as its compared to the others.

Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and

telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.
What technology is needed to implement the Curriculum and Professional
Development components for students and staff?
During some busy days of the academic year, administrators and teachers are
not fully focusing on training and curriculum developments. It needs to be
planned ahead and followed by some professional workers in the schools.
Therefore, powerful calendar software needs to be implemented to the system.
Besides that, data backing up is another important technology that school needs
to have. Nowadays, more media files are used in the education. They needed to
be stored in a dedicated server.
Can existed equipment be modified to meet certain needs identified in the
plan?
The technology plan required computers to be updated every 5 years; projectors
and document cameras, every 3 years. Those devices are technically not
modifiable. However, software that school uses such as AR, Study Island,
Rosetta Stone, USA Test Prep, and NWEA Testing system can be easily modified
according to school needs.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT
The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
Who will oversee the data collection, analysis, and program modification
process?
Every end of technology plan calendar, the technology coordinator collect data to
determine whether plan worked or not. Those data are presented to principal,
assistant principal, technology committee members, department heads, and a
representative of superintendent or him/herself.
Who will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process?
According to technology plan, evaluation process can be done by a committee lead by
school principal. Principal decides/chooses the member of committee.

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is responsible?
The data collection needs to be done every end of academic quarters. The
Oklahoma State Department of Education requires schools to have 4 quarters
that consists of 9 weeks every academic year. The main person that is
responsible for the data collection process is the technology coordinator. He/she
collects data every 9 weeks and combines all the data in one file at the end of the
year.
How will teachers, parents, and other stakeholders provide suggestions
and opinions in the evaluation process?
Evaluation process is done at the end of the academic year. During the last week
of the school, technology committee meets every day after school. Last two
meetings, parents, all teachers, and selected students are invited but
participation is optional. During those two meetings, they have chance to
participate, provide their personal/professional opinions. After those two meetings
are done, the principal bring the data and results to the superintendent.
