Beside these members above, teachers, parents, committee members, interns, and
some selected students are also involved for technology planning process. All these
members regularly meet lead by school principal in an academic year. Technology
coordinator delivers presentation about current technology used in the school and
identified needs. The technology plan committee aims to find what needs to be done to
solve their technology needs to how to arrange their schools status to the technology
improvements.

Answer 3
All students and teachers will have access to information technology in their classrooms.
All teachers will use technology effectively in order to help students achievement.
Making sure that all students will have basic skills of using technology.
Schacter, J., & Fagnano, C. (1999). Does computer technology improve student learning
and achievement? How, when, and under what conditions?.Journal of Educational
Computing Research, 20(4), 329-343.
This article above investigates designing technology for students need in order to
improve their learning skills.
There have been widespread claims that technology can make learning easier, more
efficient, and more motivating. Sometimes this approach can take educator to the wrong
direction. Accepting and implementing technologies to their teaching environments
without training resulted that technology can be used as a not very effective tool. This
study argues that technologies are amazing tool for teaching. However educators need to
know to know how to use it effectively. The technology plan is mostly focusing on using
technology and training process.
I attend social networking training held by State department of education in the school.
The school hosted and invited some key people of state department of education. The
presenters explained using social media websites in the classrooms. During the session,
I had a chance to see some teachers experiences regarding social media with
educational way. Before the training we all thought that social media is not great tool for
teaching. However, we realized that they can be used as an effective learner tool after the
training. The technology plan includes trainings of using technology tools.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
What are the LEAs curriculum goals and plans for assisting students to
meet content standards and demonstrate college and career readiness?
According to technology plan, some of the goals are listed as below:
Students will communicate through applications software to create wellwritten documents, spreadsheets and databases, and to use computerassisted design tools.
Students will use technology to access and retrieve, to interpret and evaluate
visual and auditory information using search strategies to retrieve information.
Students will enhance their productivity by using technology to develop
learning and workplace skills.
Students will also develop basic technology skills by selecting and accessing
technology appropriate to needs.
How will your curricular goals and needs influence your technology goals?
The structure of the school based on the technology plan is very simple. First of
all, the curriculum development committee finds out the goals of the academic
part, and then the technology committee researches some effective, appropriate,
suitable, and affordable technologies. This simple approach directs school to
implement technology easily and effectively.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
What LEA board policies will be or have been developed to implement
Internet safety instruction?
Internet security is a big issue in this school. Prior to this technology plan, there
has not been any plan regarding internet security and safety. This has been
added to the plan. According to the technology plan, the schools internet traffic
must be monitored by an available technology in the market. The school board
has approved that the school has to be done by implementing this technology till
the last year of the plan calendar. This academic year (2015-2016), the school is
developing their infrastructure for network monitoring.
How will the library/media center staff assists in ensuring students become
effective users of information technology?
The school has a library which has 6 computers for students. The librarian is also
a former students and a teacher candidate. The main duty of librarian is to train
students how to use Rosetta Stone which is software that loaded in the library
computers and help them to make sure they use the technology in a proper way.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
How will teachers and administrators be trained and provided on-going
support in the effective integration of technology into the curriculum?
Technology plan requires technology committee that trains the staff members or
find training for them. During their regularly technology meetings, one of the main
item is training staff members. In addition to that, technology coordinators along
with the help of other campuses technology coordinators help and train all staff
members. They also provided ongoing support during their work hours if teachers
need special help on specific technology tools.
Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
Who will oversee the data collection, analysis, and program modification
process?
Every end of technology plan calendar, the technology coordinator collect data to
determine whether plan worked or not. Those data are presented to principal,
assistant principal, technology committee members, department heads, and a
representative of superintendent or him/herself.
Who will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process?
According to technology plan, evaluation process can be done by a committee lead by
school principal. Principal decides/chooses the member of committee.
Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is responsible?
The data collection needs to be done every end of academic quarters. The
Oklahoma State Department of Education requires schools to have 4 quarters
that consists of 9 weeks every academic year. The main person that is
responsible for the data collection process is the technology coordinator. He/she
collects data every 9 weeks and combines all the data in one file at the end of the
year.
How will teachers, parents, and other stakeholders provide suggestions
and opinions in the evaluation process?
Evaluation process is done at the end of the academic year. During the last week
of the school, technology committee meets every day after school. Last two
meetings, parents, all teachers, and selected students are invited but
participation is optional. During those two meetings, they have chance to
participate, provide their personal/professional opinions. After those two meetings
are done, the principal bring the data and results to the superintendent.
