SEVEN STARWOOD PROPERTIES IN THE UK SECURE CARBON

TRUST ACCREDITATION
Seven of Starwoods UK properties Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa,
Edinburgh, The Park Lane Hotel, Sheraton Skyline Hotel, Sheraton
Heathrow Hotel, Le Mridien Piccadilly, Sheraton Park Tower and
Turnberry Resort in Scotland have been awarded the Carbon Trust
Standard in recognition of having successfully reduced their carbon
emissions.
The Carbon Trust Standard shows people which organisations have
genuinely acted on climate change and are committed to on-going
emission reductions. In order to gain the Carbon Trust Standard, the
properties had their carbon footprints measured, reduced their
emissions over a three year period, integrated a robust and effective
carbon policy and made plans to ensure on-going carbon reductions.
This accreditation recognises the hotels achievements in carbon
reduction and demonstrates their commitment to reducing carbon
emissions year on year. This is in line with Starwoods commitment to
reduce energy use by 30% and water use by 20% by the year 2020.
The Carbon Trust Standard requires the properties to keep reducing
their carbon emissions and to undergo an audit every two years.
Congratulations to all seven hotels!
