Noxious Fumes, Nuisance, and Negligence and/or Gross Negligence are just the

allegations contained in a class action lawsuit that was filed on June 4th in Cook County Circuit
Court in reference to odors community members claim come from a plant called AGRI-FINE,
INC. located in the Citys Southeast side.
The lawsuit alleges that AGRI-FINE, INC. is only permitted to release 0.3 tons per year
into the air per their permit granted to them by the City of Chicago. However, according to
documents on file with the Circuit Court of Cook County the Plaintiffs contend that 1.77 tons
over the years of 2011 and 2012 was released in violation of their permit.
The complaint filed by LIDDLE & DUBIN, P.C. out of Detroit claim that the smells are
from hydrogen-sulfide being released into air that has been affecting Southeast side residents
stretching all the way to Jeffrey Many neighborhood of Chicago. According to the complaint
filed by LIDDLE & DUBIN, P.C. odors are believed to stem from lack of odor-control
technology that has contributed to issues which they claim have diminished the market value
of the Plaintiffs property. LIDDLE & DUBIN are now requesting that a Cook County Judge
grant class-action status.
Local residents who attended the meeting held by LIDDLE & DUBIN, P.C. have
described the odors to be equivalent of decomposing roadkill mixed with skunk one female
stated.
All Parties are due in Cook County Circuit Court October 2nd, 2015 at the Richard J.
Daley Center in room 2502.
