THE REVOLUTIONARY

WAR

Chapter 1
In 1754 France and Great Britain fought
over the 13 colonies. Great Britain won but
they didn't have any money so they raised the
taxes and the colonists did not like that. The
colonists were epically angry because they
didn't have representation in parliament. So
they started the chant "no taxation without
representation.
In Boston there was a riot between the
colonists and one British soldier. The British
soldier yelled for backup. As soon as they
heard the call for help they came immediately.
One soldier thought he heard "fire" and got
his gun ready and fired witch made all the
other redcoats too,5 colonists died. This event
was called the Boston Massacre. This lead up
to the revolutionary war.

Chapter 2
It was Christmas night George
Washington crossed the Delaware river,
to surprise the British troops on a sneak
attack. Christmas morning the colonists
shot most of the British soldiers, no one
knows how many. No colonists got hurt
or killed during the sneak attack. British
soldiers were surprised because they
just woke up when the sneak attack
happened. That was the battle of
Trenton.

Chapter 3
It was Christmas morning and Mary
was laying on her bed in the cabin.
She was thinking about her family and
wishing she never pretended to be a
boy. All of the sudden Mary heard
gunshots then she heard screaming
soldiers saying "we're under attack"
"the colonists are her." She hurried
and got her musket and ran out her
cabin, heard one more gun shot and
felt like a sword pushed into her chest
and she saw black!

Chapter 4
The most successful battle was the battle
of Trenton. The battle of Trenton was the
successful battle because....... it gave the
colonists confidence. The colonists were
able to sneak up on the British and kill
many British soldiers. This made the
colonists feel like they can win the war.
Another reason that the battle of Trenton
was the most successful battle was
because the colonists won. The colonists
won because George Washington came up
with the plan to sneak up on the British
soldiers. They also won because George
Washington was there to lead them. In the
book The Revolutionary War Josh Gregory
states "most historians agree that the
continental army would not have defeated
the British without Washington's leadership"
This shows that the sneak attack helped
the colonists win this battle and eventually
the war.
