Course Objectives:

This course is designed to make students enable to solve Differential problems using
Laplace and inverse Laplace Transforms

This course is designed to make students enable to solve Multiple Integrals and its
Application

Unit I
Complex Functions : De-Moivres Theorem, Roots of a complex numbers, Expansion
of sin nt , cos nt and tan nt in powers of sin t , cos t and tan t respectively, Complex
function, Exponential and Circular function of complex variable, Hyperbolic functions,
Inverse Hyperbolic functions, Real and Imaginary parts of Circular and hyperbolic
function, Logarithmic function of a Complex varable, Summation of series using C+iS
method, Complex numbers
Unit II
Multiple Integral and its Application : Change of order of integration, Double
Integral, Double integral in Polar coordinates, Triple Integrals, Change of Variables,
Area enclosed by plane curves (Cartesian and Polar coordinates), Area of curved
surface, Volume of solids (As Double integrals, As Triple Integral)
Unit III
Vector calculus : Differentiation of vectors, Velocity and acceleration, Del, Del
applied to scalar point function- Gradient, Directional derivative, Del applied to vector
point function -Divergence and Curl, Del applied twice to point functions, Del applied
to Product of point functions, Integration of vectors, Line integrals, Greens theorem
Unit IV
Application of vector calculus : Gauss Divergence Theorem, Stokes theorem,
Surface and volume integrals
Unit V
Laplace Transforms : Laplace Transform, Properties of Laplace Transform, Laplace
Transform of Derivatives and integrals, Multiplication and division by t, Evaluation of
Integrals by Laplace Transforms, Inverse Laplace Transforms, Convolution theorem,
Solution of Differential equations by using Laplace Transform
Unit VI
Fourier Series : Fourier series, Eulers formula, Change of interval, Fourier series of
even and odd functions, Half range expansions
