Lesson Description
This is an introduction lesson to a larger unit about indigenous relationships with national
governments. Since we are in Canada, the intro lesson will look at a history of Canadian First
Nations. This will include things such as the Indian Act, Idle no more, etc.

Lesson Goals

To give students a better understanding of the history of first nations in Canada. This lesson
will focus on this topic from the perspective of their relation with the government.

-lecture/powerpoint to teach students about some of the history of Canadian first nations. This
will focus on the historic relationship and the treaties that have happened throughout the years.

Close (5 MINS):
- Ask the students if there any questions and talk about due dates for the essay.
