For my production I will have a crew of four people, three of these people
will be working on the crewmember side of the production whist one of
them will be the actor for the advertisement. Firstly I will be the director of
the production, this means I have written and storyboarded the production
and will be dictating the other crewmembers on their roles and jobs. I
have a cameraman (Harry Lowe) who will be collecting all the footage
shots based on my requirements and the storyboard. The cameraman will
always be on set to ensure all the needed footage is captured and ready
for editing or reviewing. I also have a assistant who will be helping me
direct the storyline of the production, the assistant (James Flint) will
monitor the production and check that all the needed shots have been
collected. All three crewmembers will be in close contact and working to
complete their roles when they are needed. My final member of the
production is Lesh Lethbridge who will be the actor in the advertisement;
the actor will not work towards the physical production of the
advertisement but will be the main role in the production.

Agreed content / amended brief (please insert a copy)

The content of my advert will include a model that is romanticized and appears
to be very wealthy, she will display that the key to a more stylish lifestyle is by
using the product (Chanel perfume). She will show off her dominance and the
power she gets when using the product, as she walks through a large empty
room. The setting will have romantic colours and textures, for this the room the
model is in will require long silky robes, dim lights, florescent lights, show lights,
smoke machines and other luxuries to seem glamorous. Similarly to other Chanel
and perfume adverts it will show the model or person applying the perfume and
then transforming into a more confident character. However I had amended the
initial brief and decided to base my product onto the male audience after
collecting my survey analysis results from my online questionnaire I constructed
to view peoples views on the intentions of my product and production.

During my production there were some potential hazards that could affect
health or safety towards crewmembers, actors or other people around us,
these were minor but nevertheless they had to have precaution in case of
escalating events or outcomes of the situations. Activities such as filming
in the busy streets of London had potential hazards that could have
developed if not considered, the first of these hazards were injury caused
from vehicles. This is a hazard that was taken into consideration all the
time when filming on the streets because of the always active roads that
are present, injuries from this activity were avoided by taking regular
vehicle checks. Another hazard during the filming of the location shots
was injury to other people around us, this risk is a medium risk as appose
to the vehicles which were a high risk nevertheless it had to be taken into
consideration throughout the filming of the shots, this was taken to
prevent any harm to civilians by careless handling of equipment. However
this was also avoided through ensuring the crew was checking their
surroundings constantly, and both these location risks were in place
during the time of the activity.

The other risks in my production were considered during the filming on the
indoor location, these risks were just as important as the outdoor risks
because there preventions had to be constantly monitored in case of an
incident arising. The first of the indoor risks was the activity of filming on
the studio set; the hazard was tripping over loose wires. This hazard had
to be monitored and checked out by all the crewmembers, as it could be a
danger to themselves and others. To prevent this all loose wires and
cables were tucked in out of the way and all crew members had to double
check they havent left any wires lying around the building; this risk was
placed on the day and was set to a medium risk. The final risk in my
production was similar to the previous risk and is the tripping over of
equipment. Any loose equipment had to be placed correctly to prevent
any crewmembers or actors causing harm to anyone including

themselves, the risk had the same precaution as the tucking In of the
wires so therefore the crew were instructed to remove any loose
belongings or objects from sight. Every risk in the risk assessment I
carried out were reviewed on the day of the filming as it was the only
appropriate time because these risks can fluctuate depending on the
situation or day, nevertheless they were all review by a designated
reviewer for each hazard.

Contingency / back up plans

My production had a back up plan in case my actors were suddenly not
able to make it to the production with or without informing the rest of the
crew, the backup plan was to have emergency contacts that I could use in
case a crew member or actor was not able to make it on short hand
notices. This proved to be a very useful tool as it was almost needed and
could have resulted in postponing the productions filming on one of the
days of filming.
An earlier back up plan was for my productions product, I intended to
create an advertisement for the CHANEL perfume/cologne advert, however
if I was not able to get ahold of the product in time as the product was
ordered from the internet, I would have use my backup plan of creating an
advertisement for an IPhone 5C witch I have easy access to. This was
however never needed, as I was able to get my product in time for the
production.

Detail how you solved problems

Problem

Solved

Legal/copyright issues with branding.

Reviewing the terms & conditions of

companies and ensuring rules arent broken.

Land privacy and location issues.

Ensuring permission was granted for filming

or filming in public areas.

Clashing/mixing up filming days.

Arranging specific days and reminding crew

members and actors of the dates and times.

Clashing with other students for studio use.

Pre-planned and arranged studio time to

allow uninterrupted and less limited time.

Transportation issues and availability.

Arranged green screening sessions to save

time on location shooting by local filming.

Modifications (Why did you modify your work and what was changed
during post-production)

Why

Green Screen Backdrop

This was edited in the postproduction stage to a

backdrop of recorded
footage.

This was as the green screen

was used in my production to
later be modified for my
intentions.

Lighting in the footage

I added spotlight effects to

my production during the
editing of the production.

This was because I was not

able to use these when
initially filming, as they
would be a distraction.

Colour of the footage

I changed my raw footage

videos to black and white
because I required it for my
moods that I desired to create

This was so I could achieve

my intended effect from the
recorded footage in the final
production.
