My Production Diary

Week beginning 13/04/15

Lesson 1 today I have been brainstorming ideas, I have thought of two main
ideas that I want to do for my final major project these are; a music video or a
film trailer. To do this I have created moodboards.
Lesson 2 to decide on the idea I wanted to go with and make I created a survey
today and sent it to students that are the target audience to find out with they
thought was the best idea.
Lesson 3 today I got all my results and put them in to a document then once I
knew which one I wanted to make, the music video, I started thinking about
locations and contingencies that might go wrong by making this production.
Lesson 4 in this lesson I have been looking and researching the costs, personal
and recourses I will need to make my production.
Lesson 5 today I have researched further in to the constraints then continued
to look at audience research and in to the band and target audience.
Lesson 6 I have continued my research in to market and competition research.
Lesson 7 today I have finished all the research and now deciding on my cast
and crew.

Week beginning - 20/04/15

Lesson 1 in todays lesson I have been looking and previous music videos and
bands of the same genre.
Lesson 2 today I have finished my research on other bands and their music
videos and I have begun constructing my proposal for my pitch.
Lesson 3 I have continued to work on my proposal adding all my research and
ideas in to it and then I have also made a presentation for my pitch from the
information.
Lesson 4 in todays lesson I have been finishing off my pitch and rehearsing it
so I know what to do on the day.

Week beginning 27/04/15

This week we have spent watching the whole classes pitches and assessing their
ideas to give them feedback.

Week beginning 04/05/15

Lesson 1 6 today I have started on my pre production. I have made the script,
done location recces and risk assessments. I have also started storyboarding my
production.
For the rest of the week I have been completing my pre production such as,
crew lists, location mock ups, props list, mood boards, call sheet and schedule.

Week beginning 11/05/15

This week I have been completing all my pre-production and preparing to start
filming next week. During this week I have been focussing on storyboarding and
organisation of all the other cast and crew that need to know when and where
they are needed to film my productions.

Week beginning 18/05/15

This week I am beginning to start filming my production.
19/05/15 is the first day of filming the video today I have been filming Beth in
her car driving, filming has gone very well and will work well in my production.
Some of the issues where the camera shake inside the car as she was driving
and the sunlight through the windows creating reflections. Also I filmed Emily
and Phoebe in Emilys bedroom for the girl scenes of them getting ready before
they go out. There were no issues filming this scenes.
On the Thursday of this week, 21/05/15 I filming the singing part to my music
video. I had a big problem today as the original singer was unable to come but I
really wanted to record the sing so that I could begin editing some of the
production. To overcome this I had to use a different person in my video for the
lead singer. The person I have now recorded is Dom Beirne. Even though it was a
change it will not make a difference to my production overall and still looks good
and effective.
22/05/15 this is the Friday, today I have been editing all the shots I have been
able to to get and beginning to see my production coming together.

Week beginning 25/05/15

Half term go to Paris
Return from Paris on the 28th

29/05/15 today I am meant to be filming majority of my video, this includes the

bike scene, the boys and the woods party at the end of my video.
However due to complications with weather and the bikes I was completely
unable to film in the morning as organised of the bikes at the jumps. Because of
this I have not included this in to my final project. Although I couldnt film this I
was still able to film the rest of the scenes, these are the boy scenes in Stephens
shed with John and Stephen and luckily the weather brightened up and was
perfect for the big woods scene at the end.

Week beginning 01/06/15

Lesson 1 today I have been converting all my files and adding them to premiere
and the other files to continue making my production.
