Goal Orientation or Assessment

Students will now be

instructed to break up
into their teams and
conduct their fitness
tasks while the
coaches should come
meet with me for their
instruction.

Instruct the coaches on

the varying gameplay
tasks. They should start
by reiterating the
informing task that was
previously given to the
entire class on how the
regular season game will
go. They will then be told
to move through the
extension tasks at the
speed they think works
best for their team. If their
team does not seem to be
grasping a task, then do
not move onto another
task until this is
accomplished.

Students will complete all of the fitness

activities in a timely fashion not to
exceed 15 min.

Instruct the coaches

that they are in
charge of their team.
When I blow the
whistle once
everyone should stop
what he or she are
doing and come
circle around me. If I
blow the whistle twice
then it is time to
move from the fitness
activity to practice.
Coaches are in
charge of this
stop/transition signal
and their teams.
Coaches will also be
given their teaching
plan for that day and
instructed on how to
conduct the practice.
The instructor will
walk around after the
coaches meeting to
ensure the full fitness
plan is being
completed

Advise coaches that they

have designated areas
and should maintain their
practice in their area to
make sure nobody is
injured.
Cues: Use cues given for
all skills so far, listed
above.

Coaches will comprehend their duties

and move to participate in the
remaining fitness activities.

Students will remain

in their teams while
the coach prepares
the batting line up.
One team will bat and
one will take the field.

The two teams will be

playing a five-inning
game against each other.
If time allows we will play
1-2 more innings. If all
players are there we will
break the teams up into
two games. You must
work as a team for this
application task.

The instructor will be

walking around to
make sure the skills
are being conducted
correctly, administer
feedback, and
answer any
questions.
After the task the
team scorekeeper will
report the scores of
the game to the
teacher.

The rules for todays

competition goes as
follows:
The two teams will duel
old school with top hand
on the bat picking if they
want to bat or field. There
will be five innings. 3 outs
will resolve in a change of
inning. At bat each batter
will get three strikes
before being out. If two
foul balls are hit the third
one has to be fair. No
walks! The team with the
most points after five
innings will win the
application task for the
day.
Cues: Use cues for all
skills given so far.

Goal Orientation or Assessment

Students will work together to

participate in the task and the coach
will successfully lead their team
throughout the entire game.
Students will score at least a 4 out of 5
on the application task.
This works in the way that first place
earns 5 points, second earns 4.

Contingency Plan:
-If raining we will either cancel class or if space is available we will take the class inside the rec or shell if
possible.
- If more equipment is needed will go to the closet in the CPASS building and use what they have if a piece
of equipment is not in the closet order it at the shell prior to the class.
- If other players are on the field with us during our class we will make the teams either practice together or
have them work in a smaller space.

Reflection: For the last class I think everyone got really involved in the championship game, which
made the class very competitive. With a tied series the players all did a great job working together as
a team. I think that the next time when I teach I need to have more involvement with every student in
team roles also in game play. It was a great class overall and I gained great experience from it.
