Market Opportunity
Opportunity: San Leandro has a large population of students with substantial amounts of
disposable income from parents, but busy schedules interfere with the students lives and
they do not find the time to go out to buy t- shirts. On average, students go shopping a
couple of times a month. Berts Shirts seeks to provide these individuals with a colorfully,
unique, homemade, and affordable alternative.
Target Market: Demographic information is my business will be targeting people of all
nationalities between the ages of 15-30. Geographic Information is Berts Shirts will be in San
Leandro, California. Psychographic Information is that my business will be targeting people
who love their school, buy clothes for school spirit, and like to contribute money to help others
in need in the world.
Industry Overview: According to the American Personal and Private Chef Association
(APPCA), about 9,000 personal chefs are currently serving some 72,000 clients nationwide.
Those numbers are expected to double over the next five years.
Market Research: Of the 85,108 people of San Leandro only approximately 2,700 people
are in my target market currently. The people in this market have busy lifestyles, they go to
school and some of them have jobs. In general, the targeted students goes out to buy clothes
only a couple of times a month or only once. This means that if they bought shirts off of
Berts Shirts they would be able to buy clothes more often, and has to spend less time at the
mall and more time to themselves. It also means that they would spend less gas money.
Leadership
Albert Felix, CEO: Albert Felix has an on going process in learning Business Management
from the San Leandro Academy of Business and Finance, and has been working at a
landscaping job to learn how to be a responsible and hardworking individual. He also has
been fundraising in the past for school events; conferences, and for donations of all kinds.
Albert is currently completing a learning session in an intensive training course that teaches
spray painting, sewing, and costume designing offered by one of his good friends, by
completing the course he will have the skills to create the design shown on his product.
