No, the Wwoofing is not the lastest flea collar for your doggy, nor a new danse style
created by RVCN Staff…
It is a simple but extremely efficient concept : gather in a network organic farmers
and people from all over the world, who have at sake to know better organic farming.
Wwoof originally meant « Willing worker on organic farms » when it was created in
1971 (!) by a British lady willing to discover the agricultural world. As soon as the
network was launched and despite the recent change for the Wwoof acronym into «
World wide opportunities on organic farms », the wwoofing has turned a true green
initiative.

How about we go wwoofing this week end?

Nothing easier, the wwoof gathers hundreds of associations (local and international) all across the world. Europe,
North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Oceania… A number of
countries have wwoofing institutions lists.
A low-cost annual membership fee is asked, futur volunteers can access
a list of hundreds of hosting places where they can take part in these
original gatherings.

These gatherings are as simple, natural and welcoming as the concept

itself. Hosts welcome wwoofers (housing, food) and offer them the
chance to live their everyday life on their lands (vegetable garden,
crops). As any volunteer action, no salary will be given.

Interest goes way beyond this aspect. Learning all the techniques related to organic farming, discrovering
alternative and sustainable lifestyles, living close to Nature and human contact, all these priceless experiences are
the wwoofing cornerstones.

So, why not giving a try to this ecological/human original experience?

« All culture arise from the mix, the encounter and shocks »
Octávio Paz, Mexican poet, critic and diplomat
