PRESENTATION:

Before:
1. Teachers ask students to clear off desks.
2. Teacher will play the video off of youtube. Ask students if they are familiar with that video.

3. (Building upon prior knowledge) Teachers ask students if they know the name Hershey.
4. After acknowledging the relationship with the chocolate, teachers will explain that Milton
Hershey was a real person, and the creator of the Hershey Chocolate Company.
5. Teachers will explain that today we are going to learn about Hershey and his company.
During:
1. Teachers will display a Power Point on Milton Hershey for the student.
2. Student will fill in worksheet as the power point goes on, hence taking notes.
3.Teachers will go over vocabulary words throughout the Power Point and ask students to repeat
the vocabulary words after the teacher.
4. After the Power Point teachers will ask students one fact they found interesting about Milton
Hershey.
5. Teachers then tell the class that we are going to start a project where they act as young
entrepeneurs.
6. Teachers will explain guidelines and pass out materials.
7. Teacher will share their example with the class.
8. Students work individually.
9. After students finish poster of business, they share with class.

After:
1. Teachers and students clean up all materials.
2. Teachers ask students what new words they learned today.
3. Teachers ask students to give another example of a real life entrepeneur.

REVIEW AND ASSESSMENT:

Assessment will take place during the child's poster where they create their own business. This
will exemplify the new vocabulary words as well as provide students with the chance to get
creative.

EXTENSION:
For an extension during reading time, the teacher can read aloud a child-friendly book on the life
of Milton Hershey.
